It's embedded into every decision we make, from project development and construction to long-term operations. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will extend Enery's Data / ML platform on Snowflake — market and plant data ingestion, feature pipelines, and the dbt semantic layer that our whole business runs its numbers off. You'll own our dbt project and ship production data pipelines alongside a Data Team that already delivers monitoring, forecasting and reporting for the fleet.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn our dbt project end-to-end: models, tests, snapshots, exposures and macros, plus the conventions and review standards the rest of the team builds toDesign and build ingestion pipelines from external sources into Snowflake — energy exchanges and market-data providers (Nord Pool, EPEX, ENTSO-E and the regional exchanges), forecast providers, SharePoint and SCADA feeds — using our existing patterns and adding new ones where neededExtend the data models that underpin monitoring, forecasting and reporting across the fleetOwn feature pipelines for our forecasting and ML work: clean, evenly-spaced time series with the versioning and lineage that model training needsContribute to the semantic layer — one agreed definition per business term — so different teams get the same number for the same questionWork with the platform team on how the data layer meets the platform — the read path that turns Snowflake data into product featuresTake on data-quality and observability of your pipelines end-to-end: alerts, backfills, incident response for the numbers you ownKey Requirements5+ years of professional data-engineering experience, or an equivalent mix of software engineering and analytical work, with at least 2 years at senior levelDeep, production dbt experience: you have owned a dbt project, not only contributed models to one, and you can set the testing and documentation standard for a team that does not yet have oneStrong SQL — you can read a 200-line dbt model, understand what it does, and refactor it without breaking the numbersComfortable in Python for pipeline work; familiarity with a workflow orchestrator (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)Hands-on experience with a modern analytical warehouse (Snowflake preferred; BigQuery / Redshift acceptable)Understanding of data modelling patterns — dimensional, activity schema, event sourcing — and the judgement to pick the right one for a given problemExperience integrating a third-party REST or SFTP data API in production, including the unglamorous parts: rate limits, backfills, schema changes announced lateHands-on production experience with AWS — a large part of our pipeline runs on it: S3, IAM, Lambda, and the glue around them (EventBridge, Secrets Manager, ECS or equivalent)Professional proficiency in EnglishProfessional proficiency in other European is considered an advantage but is not mandatoryNice-to-HavesExperience in the energy sector, and with any energy platform — trading, monitoring, forecasting or SCADA — is a big plusHands-on integration of an energy-exchange or market-data API (Nord Pool, EPEX, ENTSO-E, OPCOM/IBEX or comparable) — including how their throttling and publication schedules behave in practiceExperience with ML feature pipelines — offline / online consistency, feature stores, drift monitoringTime-series experience at plant or market resolution — 15-minute and 5-minute data, gaps, DST, resamplingInfrastructure-as-code — OpenTofu or Terraform — for the pipeline infrastructure you own, rather than clicking it together in a consoleGit-based engineering workflows and CI/CD for data: pull requests, code review, automated tests and deploys for pipelines and dbt modelsData catalogue, lineage and observability tooling — OpenMetadata, DataHub, Monte Carlo, Elementary or comparableWhy join Enery? At Enery, we are committed to attracting top talent and fostering an environment where employees can excel.
