Delivery Hero has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is part of the MDAX stock market index.Job DescriptionHungerStation is hiring a Senior Data Engineer I to design, build, and scale our data platform and processing frameworks that power analytics, AI-driven applications, and business intelligence across the organization.This role sits at the core of our data ecosystem focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance of data systems.You Will Be Working OnDesign, implement, and extend scalable data platforms and architecturesBuild and maintain high-performance data pipelines and data models using BigQueryOptimize datasets and workloads for performance and cost efficiencyDevelop analytics-ready data models, semantic layers, and governed metricsBuild backend services and APIs using Python or Java to support data applicationsContribute to AI-enabled data use cases (e.g., automated insights, conversational analytics)Improve system reliability by addressing technical debt and scaling challengesImplement best practices across CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and deployment automationManage and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting the data platformCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and engineering standardsEnsure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standardsImprove monitoring frameworks and operational resilience of the data platformSupport initiatives to enhance data quality, reliability, and system stabilityQualifications5–8 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar rolesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldMaster’s or relevant certifications are a plusStrong experience building scalable distributed data systemsHands-on with GCP (BigQuery preferred)Proven experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data modelingExperience with modern data stack (Airflow, dbt, Looker)Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational data systemsExperience with Python or Java for backend/data servicesFamiliarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)Experience with CI/CD, testing, and monitoring practicesExposure to AI-driven data applications or LLM integrations is a plusAdditional InformationWe offer relocation support globally to our permanent employees.Exchange ideas and meet 2000+ colleagues from different teams within Delivery Hero in our active guilds and through our global tech and product community.Develop your skills with your personal educational budget for conferences and external training.Access our e-learning platform LinkedIn and participate in our various in-house training programsAnd much more…
