Senior Data Engineer – PL/SQL & Redshift

Location: Dubai, UAE (Client Site)Salary: AED 10,000 – AED 13,000 / monthBenefits: Work visa, air tickets, medical insurance, gratuity, paid time offExperience: 5–8 years of relevant experienceReference: FZ-AE-509We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, and Amazon Redshift to design, develop, and maintain scalable database, data integration, and data warehouse solutions.The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with complex data sources, bulk data processing, ETL pipelines, query optimization, and data transformation. Experience in the airline domain and familiarity with AWS and MicroStrategy BI will be highly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain database solutions using Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL.Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages.Develop solutions for bulk data processing and large-scale data transformation.Design data models, database schemas, and efficient data structures.Develop and maintain data integration and data warehouse solutions.Build scalable, modular, and reusable ETL components for large-scale data pipelines.Work with disparate data sources and perform data extraction, transformation, and analysis.Develop and optimize solutions using Amazon Redshift.Troubleshoot data-related issues, ETL failures, and production incidents.Perform database and query performance tuning.Collaborate with IT, business, and other technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.Ensure data accuracy, consistency, reliability, and performance.Support data analysis and reporting requirements in collaboration with BI teams.Participate in testing, deployment, and production support activities.Required Technical Skills5–8 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or a related role.Strong hands-on experience with advanced SQL and PL/SQL.Expertise in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries and stored procedures.Strong experience with Oracle Database.Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift.Experience in bulk data processing and large-volume data handling.Good knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.Experience developing ETL processes and data integration solutions.Ability to troubleshoot ETL and data-related issues.Experience in designing scalable and reusable data pipelines.Good understanding of data transformation and data warehousing concepts.Experience with AWS services and cloud-based data solutions.Familiarity with MicroStrategy BI Platform.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred SkillsExperience working in the airline or aviation domain.Knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.Experience with AWS-based data engineering solutions.Exposure to airline operational, commercial, or analytical data.Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Soft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders.Good troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
