About the Role1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Solutions Engineer to join our growing Data Products & Platforms team. This role is ideal for an experienced data professional who works comfortably across analytics engineering and data engineering and can translate business needs into trusted, scalable data solutions.As a senior individual contributor, you will help shape our analytics data layer, standardize business metrics and datasets, and enable high-quality reporting and self-service analytics across the organization. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and technical partners to onboard data from multiple systems and make it reliable, well-documented, and ready for advanced analytics and AI applications.What You’ll DoDesign, build, and own analytics-ready datasets within Snowflake.Develop and maintain curated ELT pipelines using Coalesce.io, dbt, or similar tools.Create semantic views that standardize business logic, KPIs, and metric definitions.Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand data, reporting, and analytical needs.Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into scalable, reusable data solutions.Onboard data from multiple source systems and standardize information across brands and business areas.Develop dimensional data models, including fact and dimension tables and star schemas.Enable self-service analytics through platforms such as Sigma and Power BI.Establish clear documentation for datasets, metrics, analytical models, and business rules.Monitor and improve data quality, performance, accuracy, and reliability.Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to evolve the enterprise analytics data layer.Deliver high-quality datasets that support forecasting, machine learning, generative AI, and other advanced analytics initiatives.Provide senior-level guidance on analytics engineering practices, data modeling standards, and dataset design.Independently own assigned business domains and help drive the enterprise data roadmap.What We’re Looking ForRequired QualificationsFive or more years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex queries and data transformations.Hands-on experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse.Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines using Coalesce.io, dbt, or a comparable framework.Strong understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, and star schemas.Experience integrating, standardizing, and normalizing data from multiple source systems.Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate their needs into effective data solutions.Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and take ownership of projects with limited oversight.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsDirect experience with Snowflake, Coalesce.io, or dbt.Experience designing or managing semantic or metrics layers.Familiarity with Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar business intelligence tools.Knowledge of modern data-stack and analytics-engineering best practices.Experience with data documentation, testing, quality validation, or observability tools.Exposure to forecasting, machine learning, generative AI, or other advanced analytics workflows.Experience supporting merchandising, marketing, inventory, costing, or other enterprise business data.Why Join Us?Join a modern data organization that approaches data as a product.Work with a contemporary technology stack that includes Snowflake, Coalesce.io, Sigma, and Power BI.Take ownership of high-impact data solutions used across multiple business areas.Help shape how the organization standardizes, trusts, and scales its data.Collaborate with business and technical leaders on highly visible enterprise initiatives.Operate with meaningful autonomy while contributing to a close-knit, growing team.1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
