Senior Decision Scientist | SME Lending Birmingham based office - Hybrid working - Remote options available if not localI'm currently recruiting for a Senior Decision Scientist to join a growing financial services business, working at the forefront of SME lending and automated credit decisioning.This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of the full model lifecycle from identifying the problem and building models through to deployment, monitoring and optimisation - while working closely with Data, Risk and Product teams.What you'll be doingDevelop and deploy ML and statistical models across credit risk, affordability and pricingOwn models end-to-end, including data, feature engineering, modelling, validation, deployment and monitoringBuild model monitoring frameworks and performance dashboardsExplore new data sources, challenger models and A/B testing to improve decisioningTurn complex analysis into clear, commercially focused insightsWork closely with both technical and senior business stakeholders to influence lending strategyWhat I'm looking forStrong Machine Learning experience within SME lending or Consumer lending Strong Python and SQL skillsProven experience taking models through the full development lifecycleBackground in FinTech, lending or automated decisioningGood understanding of UK credit risk and regulatory requirementsConfident communicator who can bridge the gap between Data, Risk and Commercial teamsDesirable: Consumer lending experience, model governance/monitoring experience, and a strong commercial mindset with genuine ownership.If you're a Senior Data Scientist, Decision Scientist or Credit Risk Modelling specialist looking for a role where you can have real influence over SME lending strategy, I'd be keen to hear from you.Please apply asap if interested.
