Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition OverviewWe are seeking a high-performing Senior Derivatives Oil Trader with a strong, demonstrable track record of generating P&L across the global oil derivatives markets.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in oil derivatives trading, a deep understanding of global energy markets, disciplined risk management, and the ability to independently identify, structure, and execute profitable trading opportunities. Strong commercial judgment, market awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential. Key Responsibilities* Generate and manage trading P&L within established risk parameters.* Manage own trading books within the companies approved risk limits, with responsibility for P&L, VaR, position limits, liquidity, and overall portfolio risk.* Monitor daily P&L and risk exposures and ensure positions remain aligned with the firm's risk appetite and trading objectives.* Leverage deep fundamental knowledge of global oil markets, including refinery economics, inventories, supply/demand, freight, flows and geopolitics.* Build and maintain a differentiated market view and translate it into actionable trading positions* Manage a portfolio of positions with a strong focus on risk-adjusted returns, capital efficiency and downside protection.* Contribute market intelligence, trading ideas and expertise to the broader trading organization.Candidate Profile* Deep experience in at least one of: ·-Crude oil-Distillates-Light ends·-Oil options-Fuel* Proven and verifiable track record of profitable oil derivatives trading, with a history of generating consistent P&L.* 7+ years of relevant trading experience, ideally within a trading house, hedge fund,*Strong commercial judgment, market awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.* Demonstrated expertise in options, volatility and derivatives trading.* Strong understanding of oil market fundamentals and physical market dynamics.* Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.* Excellent understanding of trading risk, position sizing, liquidity and portfolio construction.* Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and take ownership of a trading book.Success in the RoleThe successful candidate will be expected to bring an established trading edge and proven P&L-generation capability, while developing and managing a scalable oil derivatives trading book.This opportunity is particularly suited to an established trader who can demonstrate a strong historical performance record, deep market expertise and the ability to generate sustainable risk-adjusted returns.
