This role involves leading the design and development of customized mounting solutions and medical equipment components, from concept through to production. The Senior Design Engineer will translate customer requirements into detailed mechanical and product designs, create and review CAD models and drawings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement. Responsibilities include validating designs through calculations and simulations, supporting prototyping and testing, resolving design-related issues in manufacturing, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining documentation for design changes and product approvals.Qualifications Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to convert customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions.Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles, including materials selection, tolerance analysis, and structural design for medical equipment components.Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar), including 3D modeling and detailed engineering drawings.Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to mounting solutions and integration with medical devices.Previous experience in medical device or precision engineering manufacturing is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.Ability to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate with production, quality, and customer-facing teams.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.Effective communication skills and experience mentoring or guiding junior engineering team members.
