Our team works with customers and partners to address both established and emerging heat-transfer challenges, delivering solutions tailored to complex operational requirements.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer of heat exchangers and related systems. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales, manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and project teams to translate technical requirements into safe, reliable, and manufacturable engineering solutions. The role also includes providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate customer requirements, process data, and technical specifications into practical engineering solutions.Prepare and review general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.Perform and verify mechanical design calculations involving pressure, temperature, structural integrity, materials, fluid flow, and thermal performance.Review applicable codes, standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure design compliance. (API, ASME Section VIII Div.1, etc.)Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, technical evaluations, and design verification activities.Ensure designs are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance.Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, procurement, sales, installation, commissioning, and after-sales service teams.Coordinate with suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues and clarify design requirements.Investigate design-related problems, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive solutions.Support product optimization, value engineering, cost-reduction, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.Manage multiple design projects while meeting agreed technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Strong background in mechanical design, with experience leading product, equipment, or system design projects.Sound knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, pressure-containing equipment, and engineering materials.Experience translating customer and process requirements into robust, manufacturable designs.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to technical accuracy and detail.Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple projects within defined deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.Experience in plate heat exchangers, heat-transfer equipment, pressure equipment, or industrial process systems will be an added advantage.Familiarity with relevant pressure vessel, piping, material, welding, or manufacturing standards.Exposure to industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, food and beverage, palm oil, power generation, HVAC, or data centres.What We OfferThis position provides the opportunity to take technical ownership of industrial engineering projects, work directly with multidisciplinary teams and customers, and contribute to the continued development of HISAKAWORKS’ heat-transfer products and solutions.
