Location: Los Angeles, CAWe are seeking a fashion-forward Designer or Senior Designer specializing in dresses to join a growing apparel company focused on the young contemporary market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the young contemporary customer and a proven track record designing fashion-forward, commercially relevant dresses.What We’re Looking For:5+ years of experience designing for young contemporary / better junior fashionStrong dress design experience is a mustDeep understanding of the young contemporary customer, including silhouettes, fabrication, color, prints, and fashion detailsStrong trend awareness and the ability to translate emerging trends into commercially viable productExperience designing fashion-forward product across multiple price pointsStrong understanding of fit, proportion, construction, fabrication, and costingAbility to develop product from concept through sampling and productionStrong sketching skills and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and ExcelHighly organized, resourceful, and comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with factories, vendors, patternmakers, and production teamsCommercially minded with an understanding of what resonates with the customer and what will sellMost importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about young contemporary fashion and has a strong point of view in dresses — someone who is trend-driven, commercially minded, highly organized, and able to take ownership of the design process from concept through production.Please submit a resume for immediate consideration.LA: We will consider qualified candidates with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring.
