Senior DevOps Kubernetes/Helm Engineer

Role Description The Senior DevOps Kubernetes/Helm Engineer is a full-time on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes-based infrastructure, including Helm chart creation, optimization, and lifecycle management. The engineer will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, monitor system performance, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security of cloud-native applications. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with development and operations teams, troubleshooting production issues, improving observability, and optimizing resource utilization. The role also involves contributing to infrastructure-as-code practices, documenting solutions, and mentoring team members on DevOps and containerization best practices.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong containerization and orchestration skills, including Kubernetes cluster management, Helm chart development, and experience with Docker or similar container technologies.Candidates should possess solid DevOps and automation skills, such as building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Candidates should possess cloud and infrastructure skills, including experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), Linux system administration, networking fundamentals, and security best practices for cloud-native environments.Candidates should possess monitoring and reliability skills, including hands-on work with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, and practices such as logging, alerting, performance tuning, and incident response.Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, document technical solutions clearly, and support knowledge sharing and mentoring.Relevant experience in enterprise environments, especially working with IBM or open source technologies, and familiarity with microservices architectures are beneficial.A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.Advanced problem-solvingBanking, Fintech and/or digital payments experience is a plus.
