The group empowers the delivery of connectivity for all. Spectrum's digital products reach millions of customers, including many who rely on assistive technology to use them. We are therefore seeking a senior-level strategic leader equipped to drive thoughtful, enterprise-level efforts that help ensure customers with disabilities are supported across Spectrum's digital experiences. As Senior Director of Accessibility, you will lead the technical engine behind that experience. Your first priority is shifting accessibility left — partnering with design and engineering, including our design systems team, to embed accessibility standards directly into how products get built, so issues are designed out before they ever reach a test cycle. This proactive foundation has been a priority for Spectrum and the industry for years, and you'll be the one setting the standards that make it real. You'll pair that with the testing programs (automated and manual audits) that catch what slips through, and the innovation — including harnessing AI to scale testing, remediation and standards development — that keeps Spectrum ahead of an evolving regulatory and technology landscape. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role, with partnerships that start close to home and extend well beyond it. Within the accessibility team, you will partner closely with Compliance, where the meeting of regulatory obligations depends on the health of the data your audits produce — one of the team's top priorities every year. How You’ll Make an Impact  Guide and inspire a collaborative team by harmonizing diverse perspectives to deliver innovative digital products that elevate the customer experienceSet and track performance targets to ensure high standards and accountability within your teamDevelop and mentor leaders and direct reports, fostering professional growth and confidence in communication and collaborationProvide strategic direction for new product development, technologies and initiatives related to accessibilityReview and recommend bids for contracted projects, ensuring alignment with Spectrum’s objectivesDirect contractors and consultants supporting technology delivery while managing capital budgetsBuild partnerships across departments to drive consistency in the successful delivery of accessible products, services, and experiencesGuide an accessibility roadmap and business processes leveraging new technologiesAnalyze performance reports and develop actionable insights to improve accessibility effortsOversee project timelines, milestones, budget and go-to-market activities, ensuring accessibility solutions align with operational strategiesWorking Conditions  Office environmentTravel as requiredWhat You’ll Bring to Spectrum  Required Qualifications  Education  Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experienceExperience  10+ years in accessibility, assistive technologies or product management within consumer services or product organizations10+ years of management experience8+ years related industry experience in cable, telecommunications or software/online servicesRequires a competitive instinct and someone with an informed opinion that is deeply rooted in the Accessibility communityExperience writing accessibility requirements for customer-facing apps and user interfacesExtensive experience managing and training creative and technical teams to deliver high-quality accessibility features in aggressive timeframesSignificant experience teaching and embedding accessibility best practices in design, development and testing teamsDemonstrated project management experienceExperience with HTML and front-end code languagesSkills  Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishExpert knowledge in accessible technologiesAdvanced functional testing knowledge for people with various disabilitiesAdvanced cognitive, analytical and communication skillsStrong business acumen and urgency to achieve resultsEffective presentation skills and ability to communicate with all levels of managementSkilled in PC and presentation tools including Excel and PowerPointAbility to develop market forecasts for new products and servicesAbility to make decisions and solve problems under pressureAbility to coach, motivate, manage and train cross-functional teamsAbility to develop, communicate, implement, and drive strategies and tacticsAbility to oversee multiple initiatives and prioritize independentlyAbility to analyze and synthesize data into actionable recommendationsStrategic thinker able to anticipate future trends and needsPreferred QualificationsEducationCertification through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (e.g., CPACC, WAS or CPWA), or equivalentAdvanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Disability Studies or related field, or equivalent years of relevant professional experienceSkillsLived experience as a person with a disability or as a native user of assistive technology, bringing firsthand insight to accessibility strategy, standards and testingExperience leading and managing teams that include people with disabilities, with the practical insight that comes from building inclusive people practices and accommodationsProven ability to build and sustain partnerships both inside and outside the organization that produce consistent, reliable results despite competing priorities and constrained timelinesStrong executive-facing communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical and regulatory detail into business risk and impact for senior leadershipExperience managing accessibility vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and ongoing performance oversightExperience speaking publicly in external accessibility forums, such as conference panels or industry working groupsExpert level knowledge of the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guides (WCAG)MPD875 2026-82131 MPD875 2026Here, our employees don’t just have jobs, they're building careers.
