Senior Director, AI Engineering & Platform

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)Reports To: VP / Head of Data, Analytics & AIJob Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Director of AI Engineering & Platform to lead the strategy, governance, optimization, and delivery of our enterprise AI and analytics platform ecosystem.

This leader will play a critical role in shaping how modern AI capabilities are deployed across the organization by leveraging industry-leading platforms rather than building custom infrastructure from scratch.This role is ideal for a technology leader who understands how to operationalize AI at scale, foster engineering excellence, and lead high-performing teams. You will be responsible for driving engineering best practices, platform governance, technical execution, and organizational development while partnering closely with senior business and technology leaders.As a member of the Data, Analytics & AI leadership team, you will work alongside leaders responsible for Trusted Data Products and Analysis & Engagement to deliver business outcomes through data-driven decision making and AI-enabled solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesAI Engineering & Platform LeadershipLead the strategy, management, and optimization of enterprise AI, analytics, and data platforms.Drive adoption and governance of modern cloud-based platforms including Snowflake and other AI-enablement technologies.Establish platform standards, operating models, and technical roadmaps that support scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations on platform capabilities, enhancements, and investments.Maintain a strong point of view on industry trends and AI platform evolution to ensure the organization remains ahead of the curve.Engineering Excellence & DevOpsChampion software engineering best practices across the organization, including:Source control and version managementCI/CD methodologiesAgile development practicesRelease managementQuality assurance and governanceApply engineering discipline to platform configuration, implementation, and operations rather than custom platform development.Drive repeatable, scalable development processes that improve speed, quality, and reliability of delivery.Team Leadership & Organizational DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers and platform professionals.Conduct talent assessments and partner with leadership to evaluate organizational structures, capabilities, and future-state needs.Build and sustain a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.Inspire teams while maintaining high standards for execution and delivery.Business Partnership & DeliveryPartner with business leaders, analytics teams, data product leaders, and engineering stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives.Ensure AI and technology investments align with business priorities and measurable outcomes.Balance innovation with operational excellence and financial stewardship.Drive execution across multiple concurrent initiatives and strategic programs.QualificationsRequired Experience10+ years of progressive leadership experience within software engineering, platform engineering, cloud technology, data, analytics, or AI organizations.Proven experience leading technical teams in enterprise environments.Strong understanding of DevOps culture, software development lifecycle management, and engineering governance.Experience managing cloud, data, analytics, or AI platforms at scale.Demonstrated success building high-performing technical organizations and mentoring engineering leaders.Experience developing technology roadmaps and managing platform investments.Preferred ExperienceExperience with Snowflake or similar modern cloud data platforms.Knowledge of AI/ML operational frameworks and platform management.Experience supporting enterprise analytics, data products, and AI initiatives.Familiarity with cloud technologies and platform ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.What Success Looks LikeWithin the first year, you will:Assess organizational capabilities and help shape the future structure of the AI engineering organization.Establish consistent engineering practices and platform governance standards.Improve platform utilization, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.Develop leaders and strengthen technical talent across the organization.Create a sustainable operating model that accelerates AI adoption and business value delivery.Leadership ProfileThe ideal candidate is:A leader first and a technologist second.Equally comfortable discussing organizational strategy and technical architecture.Curious, adaptable, and continuously learning.Focused on outcomes rather than technology for technology's sake.Passionate about developing people and building strong teams.Driven by accountability, ownership, and long-term impact.This role is best suited for a leader who understands that modern AI success comes from leveraging and optimizing world-class platforms, enabling teams through strong engineering practices, and creating an environment where talented professionals can consistently deliver exceptional business outcomes.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: Approximately $225,000+, depending on experienceAnnual Bonus EligibilityComprehensive Benefits PackageHybrid Work EnvironmentOpportunity to influence enterprise-wide AI strategy and transformation initiativesWhy Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to help define the future of AI and analytics within a rapidly evolving organization.
