Senior Director of Software Engineering

Our client is a global leader in the lending and insurance risk operations space. This is an amazing opportunity to join a small but growing, technology-forward organization, as it continues to scale and lead its industry. We are hiring the most senior technologist in the company. You will own technical direction and lead a team of 12 across development, QA, business analysis, data science, and analytics. You report to the Head of Operations.This is not an ivory-tower role. You set strategy in the morning and review a pull request in the afternoon. You sit with the people who do the work, understand the business problem, pick the right approach, and lead the team to something that ships.The team already uses agentic approaches to build software, and LLM-driven systems are already running in production. You will arrive with momentum, not a backlog of convincing to do. You are the technical voice in the room, with a short path to decisions.What you will take from promising to proven

• AI-enhanced customer experience: a redesign of client-facing websites and applications
• Document intelligence: an LLM pipeline that classifies incoming documents, extracts data, routes each item, and tracks its own accuracy
• Agentic operations: agents that watch mailboxes, pull attachments, and feed the document pipeline end to end
• AI on a core research workflow, so specialists spend time on the hardest cases
• A modern delivery platform: Argo CD on OpenShift, with Harbor as the container registryStackC# / .NET (APIs and desktop), ASP.NET Core Web APIs, SQL Server, Angular, SSIS, IIS, OpenShift / Argo CD, git, CI/CDWhat you bring
• Bachelor’s in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of professional software development, with significant C# / .NET
• 5+ years leading development teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing talent
• Hands-on ASP.NET Core Web APIs, Angular, and SQL Server (T-SQL, schema design, performance tuning)
• Hands-on LLMs or AI agents applied to real business problems
• Data analytics and ETL, including SSIS
• Deploying and supporting applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift, and on IIS
• Git and CI/CD
• Depth across software engineering, data, and AI, and the judgment to turn business problems into practical solutions
• Clear communication with executives, clients, and non-technical stakeholdersBonus
• You have led a data analytics team
• SSRS, Power BI, or Python for analytics
• GitOps tooling such as Argo CD, and a container registry such as Harbor
• Mortgage, insurance, or flood experience, including loan origination system integrations or EDI
