SENIOR DIRECTOR SUPPLY CHAINRemote - United States | Southern California HeadquartersA privately held specialty building-products company is building an integrated supply-chain division to support its next stage of growth.This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the President and leading two established directors responsible for strategic sourcing and supply chain.BEFORE APPLYINGFive experiences that are essential:You have led multiple acquisition integrations, including diligence and post-close execution.You understand the financial drivers of a product business and have helped scale an organization in the $50 million-$200 million-plus range.You have built or substantially improved ERP capabilities, operating processes, KPIs and planning disciplines.You have led domestic and international third-party, contract-manufacturing or co-manufacturing relationships.You have successfully mentored and led experienced managers or directors.If your background does not include these five areas, this is unlikely to be the right opportunity.THE LEADERSHIP MANDATEThe President needs a trusted right hand who can cut through competing priorities, connect strategy to execution and bring well-reasoned recommendations forward.The existing directors know the business and manage the day-to-day work well. They need a leader who will give them greater context, establish clear priorities, strengthen KPIs, remove barriers and develop their confidence and decision-making capabilities.This is not a hand-off role, nor is it an invitation to take over work that capable people are already doing.The successful leader will:Build an integrated supply-chain strategy across sourcing, contract manufacturing, planning, inventory, logistics, distribution and fulfillment.Establish a formal S&OP process connecting demand, supply, capacity, inventory and customer commitments.Lead acquisition diligence and integration across suppliers, inventory, logistics, systems and processes.Improve data visibility, systems integration and executive decision support.Strengthen COGS, gross margin, working capital, inventory performance, supplier performance and order reliability.Lead through the directors while remaining close enough to remove obstacles and become hands-on when necessary.HOW YOU LEAD MATTERSThis environment requires confidence without dominance.The right leader will listen before making changes, respect what already works and communicate clearly. They will be financially grounded, collaborative, decisive and comfortable challenging the President constructively.LOCATIONThe search is being conducted nationally. The company is based in Southern California, and candidates must be open to regular in-person collaboration. Candidates located in Southern California can expect approximately 15% overnight travel; those working remotely should expect more frequent travel.
