Team members join a professional environment focused on continuous improvement and patient-centered care.Role Description The Senior DMO (Duty Medical Officer) is a full-time, on-site role based at Promed Hospitals in Chennai. This role is responsible for providing round-the-clock medical oversight in inpatient wards, emergency, and OPD as required, including initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of patients. The Senior DMO coordinates with consultants and nursing teams to implement treatment plans, ensures accurate documentation of clinical notes, and supports safe medication administration and clinical procedures within scope. The role includes supervising junior DMOs, facilitating handovers, responding to medical emergencies, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols, clinical guidelines, and infection control practices. The Senior DMO also participates in quality initiatives, patient education, and contributes to creating a safe and respectful environment for patients, families, and staff.Qualifications Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.Several years of clinical experience in hospital settings, with exposure to emergency care, inpatient management, and multidisciplinary teamwork.Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, including ability to manage emergencies and prioritize patient care effectively.Proficiency in medical documentation, electronic health records, and clear, concise communication with patients, families, and colleagues.Commitment to ethical medical practice, patient safety, infection control standards, and compliance with hospital policies and NABH guidelines.Ability to supervise and mentor junior medical staff, collaborate with nursing and allied health teams, and work in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as per hospital requirements.Experience in multi-specialty hospitals and familiarity with quality improvement or clinical audit processes are advantageous.
