Our teams collaborate across Engineering, Electrical Design, Project Management, Construction, Procurement, Quality, and Operations to deliver high-performance infrastructure solutions.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Data Center to lead and deliver electrical engineering and design solutions for mission-critical data center environments.The role will focus on electrical system design, power distribution, capacity planning, technical coordination, design reviews, compliance, and engineering quality across data center projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams to deliver safe, reliable, efficient, and scalable electrical infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical design activities for data center and mission-critical facilities.Develop electrical engineering concepts, designs, calculations, and technical specifications.Design medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.Develop power distribution architectures for critical data center environments.Design electrical systems supporting UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, and distribution equipment.Develop single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and electrical layouts.Perform electrical load calculations and power-demand assessments.Conduct short-circuit, voltage-drop, load-flow, and protection coordination studies.Support electrical system capacity planning and future expansion requirements.Design redundant and resilient electrical systems for high-availability environments.Develop electrical room layouts and equipment arrangements.Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, civil, and ICT disciplines.Review electrical equipment selections, technical specifications, and vendor documentation.Evaluate electrical equipment submittals, drawings, calculations, and technical proposals.Provide technical input for UPS, PDU, ATS, STS, generators, transformers, and switchgear selection.Review electrical protection, grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systems.Develop lighting, emergency lighting, and small-power distribution designs where required.Review cable sizing, cable routing, containment, and termination requirements.Support electrical fire and life-safety system interfaces.Ensure electrical designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.Apply relevant data center standards and mission-critical design principles.Conduct technical design reviews and identify design risks or deficiencies.Lead design coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.Review engineering drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation.Support BIM coordination and identify electrical design clashes.Provide technical guidance to electrical engineers and design team members.Review calculations and engineering deliverables for accuracy and completeness.Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors.Participate in factory acceptance tests, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.Provide technical support during installation, energization, and commissioning phases.Investigate electrical design issues and develop appropriate engineering solutions.Support change management and assess the technical impact of design modifications.Monitor design progress against project schedules and engineering milestones.Prepare technical reports, design notes, calculations, and engineering documentation.Support procurement through technical evaluations and equipment recommendations.Assist with electrical cost estimates, technical scopes, and project budgets.Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, system reliability, and maintainability.Ensure designs consider operational safety, maintainability, redundancy, and lifecycle performance.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.7+ years of relevant electrical engineering and design experience.Proven experience designing electrical systems for data centers or other mission-critical facilities.Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.Extensive experience with UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, ATS, STS, and critical power systems.Strong understanding of electrical protection and coordination principles.Experience performing load-flow, short-circuit, voltage-drop, and other electrical engineering studies.Strong knowledge of grounding, bonding, lightning protection, and electrical safety.Experience developing and reviewing single-line diagrams and electrical design documentation.Familiarity with data center redundancy, resiliency, and availability requirements.Knowledge of relevant international electrical codes and standards.Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or comparable engineering software.Strong multidisciplinary coordination and technical leadership skills.Experience reviewing contractor, consultant, and vendor technical submissions.Strong problem-solving and engineering judgment.Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and project priorities.UAE or GCC data center project experience is an advantage.Professional engineering registration or relevant certifications are welcome but not required.What We Offer🌍 Fully Remote Work Arrangement💼 Full-Time Senior Electrical Design Engineer -
