Senior Electrical Designer & Preconstruction Coordinator

Lamarche Electric Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer & Preconstruction Coordinator to join our team in Rockland, Ontario.This senior role connects Estimating, Project Management, BIM/Design, and Field Operations, with a focus on transforming contractual and consultant design information into coordinated, constructible electrical installation packages.The ideal candidate understands how electrical systems are actually installed in the field and can bridge the gap between consultant design, contractual requirements, BIM coordination, and construction execution.Key Responsibilities· Review electrical drawings, specifications, Division 01 and Division 26 requirements, shop drawings, RFIs, SIs, CCNs, and multidisciplinary construction documents to identify design discrepancies, scope gaps, coordination requirements, and constructability concerns.· Develop and coordinate electrical installations using BIM, including distribution, conduit and cable tray routing, electrical rooms, equipment layouts, feeder routing, branch circuitry, fire alarm, communication pathways, sleeves, penetrations, supports, and required clearances.· Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other trades, including clash detection and resolution, ensuring models reflect practical and constructible installations.· Prepare coordinated installation drawings, plans, sections, elevations, equipment layouts, routing and installation details to provide clear direction for Foremen and field teams.· Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Estimating, BIM/VDC, and Field Operations to resolve coordination and constructability issues and respond to field conditions.· Proactively identify consultant revisions, design changes, missing/conflicting information, scope exposure, and potential additional work before they impact field installation.· Support preconstruction and estimating activities including scope reviews, quantity verification, constructability reviews, preliminary routing, risk identification, value engineering, and project handover.· Maintain accurate models, drawing revisions and as-built documentation, and contribute to the development of BIM standards, installation details, and preconstruction workflows.Qualifications· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical construction, electrical design, BIM/VDC, preconstruction, or a related field.· Strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks and familiarity with estimating software or tools.· Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, field installation, and constructability.· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and multidisciplinary construction documents.· Strong coordination, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.· Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle are required.· Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.Compensation & Benefits· Salary: $80,000–$130,000 per year, based on experience· Performance Bonus: Up to $10,000 annually, based on performance· RRSP Matching: Company matching up to 4%· Insurance & Benefits: Comprehensive employee benefits package· Mileage Reimbursement: $0.50/km for eligible business travel· Company Events: Family events and team activities· Employment: Full-time, Permanent· Location: Rockland, OntarioIf you have a strong combination of electrical construction knowledge, BIM/design experience, and practical field understanding, we’d like to hear from you.Apply through LinkedIn or send your resume at hr@lamarcheelectric.ca to join the Lamarche Electric team.
