This is a genuine opportunity to influence products from initial concept through to production, helping shape the future direction of both hardware design and engineering best practice.Based in Poole, the company combines the agility of a UK engineering team with the backing of an established international manufacturing organisation, giving engineers the opportunity to work on innovative products with global reach.The RoleThis is a hands-on design position where you'll take ownership of complex electronic hardware development, working closely with software, mechanical and product teams throughout the full product lifecycle.From refining product requirements through to design validation and production readiness, you'll be involved in every stage of development, ensuring robust, manufacturable and high-performance solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign electronic hardware solutions for embedded display products and custom customer applicationsDevelop complex schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using Altium DesignerDesign high-performance single board computer hardware using modern SoC architecturesWork closely with Product Managers to refine technical requirements and product specificationsOptimise designs for performance, manufacturability and costDevelop test plans and support regulatory compliance activities including EMCPerform hardware validation, testing and debugging to component levelParticipate in technical design reviews and contribute to engineering best practiceProduce and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycleCollaborate closely with embedded software engineers during board bring-up and system integrationWhat We're Looking ForYou'll be an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer with a passion for developing innovative embedded hardware solutions and solving complex engineering challenges.You'll ideally have experience of:Electronic hardware design within a commercial environmentAltium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layoutEmbedded single board computer designDigital and analogue circuit designSoC-based hardware development (NXP i.MX or similar would be highly beneficial)DDR3 / DDR4 memory designDC-DC power supply design including buck, boost or SE PIC convertersDisplay interface technologies such as MI PI DSI or LVDSEMC-conscious design and compliance testingHardware debugging and validation to component levelWorking alongside embedded software teams during hardware integrationExposure to Linux-based embedded systems or the ability to understand software interactions with hardware would also be advantageous.The PersonYou'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership of technically challenging projects and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.You'll be:An innovative engineer who enjoys developing new productsComfortable working across the complete product development lifecycleA proactive problem solver capable of working independentlyAn effective communicator who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teamsPassionate about delivering robust, high-quality engineering solutionsMotivated by continuous improvement and technical excellence
