Senior Electronics Engineer - Dorset Ever wanted your circuit designs to end up thousands of feet underground, doing a job nothing else can?We're recruiting on behalf of a global leader in the innovation and development of wireless subsurface communication technology, used by energy companies around the world during exploration and production. Since the late 1980s, this business has stayed at the forefront of its niche, and its Dorset-based Research Centre is where the next generation of that technology gets designed, tested, and proven.This is a genuinely hands-on role in a small, close-knit, multidisciplinary R&D team. You won't be a cog in a huge machine, you'll be one of a handful of engineers whose fingerprints are on every product that leaves the building.What is in it for you:Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience33 days holiday, rising with long service, plus long-service awardsPrivate healthcare, life insurance, and strong company pension contributionsA culture built on teamwork and genuinely empowering engineers to make a differenceReal ownership of your designs, from first sketch to field deploymentOffice based with flexibility What you will be doing:Designing electronics for both surface and downhole tools, analysis, schematic capture, and simulationDeveloping and investigating high-reliability components and packaging solutions built to survive extreme environmentsPlanning and running qualification testing on new designs and technologyWriting clear engineering reports, build procedures, and design documentationGetting properly hands-on at the bench, debugging, circuit analysis, and validation with a scope and power supplySupporting internal teams and external customers on technical queriesTo be considered you will have:A degree in Electronic EngineeringA strong grounding in analogue design, instrumentation, and low-noise techniques Solid, demonstrable experience in electronic designStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the communication skills to matchComfortable adapting to a fast-paced, pragmatic development environment Low-power electronics design experiencePCB layout experienceInterested?
