We are rapidly expanding into global markets and building a world-class engineering team to deliver our next-generation smart sensing products.Role Description As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer, you will lead the design and development of embedded software systems for Calumino’s thermal sensor platform. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and AI teams to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient solutions on STM32 and other Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers.This role is ideal for an experienced embedded engineer with a strong focus on production-grade firmware and real-time systems, who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary setting and is passionate about building impactful, privacy-preserving technology.Reporting to the Chief Product Officier, this hands-on, highly technical position is central to the development of Calumino’s next-generation smart sensing products.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and implement embedded software in C++ for Arm Cortex-M and other devicesLead firmware development for real-time sensor data acquisition, processing, and communicationOptimize performance, power consumption, and memory usage on constrained systemsCollaborate with cross-functional engineers (hardware, firmware, AI)Drive board bring-up, hardware/software debugging, and system validationDefine and maintain testing frameworks and CI pipelinesExperience using AI to enhance productivityDeliver quality documentation for all levels of the firmware developmentUphold high standards of software qualityQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field8+ years of experience in embedded systems development in real world productsExpertise in modern C++ (C++17 or later), including OOP, templates, and advanced featuresTeam player with excellent communication skills, written and verbalExperience with embedded toolchains (e.g., STM32CubeIDE, Keil, IAR)Experience architecting and deploying production embedded software for scalability and maintainabilityStrong grasp of software design patterns in embedded systemsDeep experience with Arm Cortex-M or similar platformsFamiliarity with RTOS, bare-metal programming, and proven record of low-level debuggingSolid understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, etc.)
