Senior Embedded Linux / Firmware Engineer

**PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE REQUIRES RELOCATING TO ABU DHABI**We are looking for a Senior Embedded Linux / Firmware Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team developing next-generation secure communications technology for mission-critical government and defence applications.This is a deeply technical, hands-on engineering position for someone with extensive Embedded Linux development experience. You'll work at the lower levels of the software stack, developing and integrating Linux platform software, device drivers, firmware and system components for advanced embedded communications hardware.This role requires someone who has developed the Embedded Linux platform itself, rather than primarily developing applications or middleware that run on Linux.What You'll Do:Develop and maintain Embedded Linux platform software, Linux kernel components and device driversDevelop and integrate Board Support Packages (BSPs) for ARM-based embedded hardwareWork with Linux kernel configuration, Device Tree, bootloaders and system bring-upDevelop low-level firmware and integrate software directly with embedded hardwareDevelop Go (Golang) system software and platform toolingWork with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART and USBSupport board bring-up, hardware/software integration, debugging and system validationWork with ARM-based platforms, including technologies from NXP and QualcommMaintain embedded Linux build environments, cross-compilation toolchains and associated CI/CD pipelinesDevelop unit and functional tests for low-level software and firmware componentsCollaborate closely with hardware, systems and software engineering teams throughout the development lifecycleWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related disciplineExtensive professional experience developing Embedded Linux platformsStrong hands-on experience with Linux kernel and Linux device driver developmentStrong experience with BSP development, Device Tree, bootloaders and board bring-upProfessional development experience with Go (Golang)Strong programming experience in C/C++Extensive experience working with ARM-based embedded platformsExperience integrating and debugging software directly with embedded hardwareExperience with interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART and USBExperience with Yocto, Buildroot or similar Embedded Linux build environmentsFamiliarity with cross-compilation and build tools such as Make, CMake or BazelStrong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience within telecommunications, networking, wireless communications, satellite or defence products would be advantageousApply directly or get in touch for a confidential discussion.**PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE REQUIRES RELOCATION TO ABU DHABI**
