Senior Embedded Software Engineer (m/f)

In our Zagreb hub Iskraemeco Holosys we are looking for an analytical, proactive, and independent individual who will take on a key role in developing embedded software solutions, defining system architecture, and leading the team in creating advanced IoT, communication and metrology technologies.If you enjoy technical challenges, working on innovative projects, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, we invite you to join our development department. Your responsibilities will include:Managing and maintaining development quality standards, including code reviews, testing, and coding guidelines.Defining and implementing departmental procedures, development principles, and documentation practices.Preparing system specifications, functional requirements, and comprehensive technical documentation.Designing and developing embedded software in C, along with system architecture and end‑to‑end algorithms.Designing control functions, RF communication modules, and security protocols for advanced embedded systems.Developing software solutions for wireless communication devices, smart sensors, and IoT technologies.Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, while leading, mentoring, and supporting the embedded team’s growth and long‑term technical strategy.The competencies we are looking for:Minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded engineering and advanced proficiency in microcontroller programming in C.Excellent knowledge of ARM Cortex‑M architecture and experience with Git or similar version control tools.Preferred knowledge of RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS)Preferred familiarity with communication stacks (e.g., LoRaWAN, NB‑IoT, BLE, wM‑BUS)Preferred familiarity with security frameworks (TLS, crypto libraries)Proven experience in leading teams and project management, including planning, organizing, coordinating, and successfully delivering projects.Strong decision‑making abilities and a high level of ownership over tasks and projects.High degree of flexibility, adaptability, and dedication to work.Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, with innovative and conceptual thinking.Clear and structured technical communication and active proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Reasons to join Iskraemeco:Permanent employment contract with a 6-month probation period.Additional benefits: meal allowance and commuting reimbursementVacation and Christmas bonusWork and collaboration in a high-tech professional environment with in-housedevelopment.Opportunities for professional and personal development: including training in technical skills, soft skills, and general competencies to enhance work performance.Opportunity to work in an international environment, as Iskraemeco is a large global company where you'll collaborate with colleagues from various locations.A professional onboarding seminar that will introduce you to the organization and the company’s portfolio within the first month.We organize various informal gatherings, including team-building events.
