Job Title: Senior Engineer & Trainer – 3D Printing in Energy Sector (Oil, Gas & Renewables)Reference: Aligning with AMA: Energy 2026 (18-22/10/2026)Experience Required: 7+ YearsAbout the Role :As we approach the "3D Printing in Energy Sector" conference (October 18-22, 2026), we are scaling our industrial additive manufacturing capabilities. We are looking for a seasoned expert to lead our energy division's transition from prototyping to serial production. With 7+ years of experience, you will act as both the technical authority AND the internal trainer, developing the next generation of AM specialists while ensuring 3D-printed components meet the rigorous safety and performance standards required for oil & gas, offshore wind, and nuclear applications.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Training: Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on 3D printing technologies (DED, LPBF, WAAM) for engineers, technicians, and operators. Mentor junior staff on DfAM principles, process optimization, and post-processing techniques.End-to-End Project Ownership: Lead the entire lifecycle of 3D-printed components for energy—from DfAM and print file preparation to post-processing (heat treatment, depowdering, EDM) and final quality evaluation.Strategic Implementation: Drive the shift from "Proof of Concept" to production, qualifying critical components (e.g., impellers, turbine parts, heat exchangers) to meet industry standards (API 20S, DNV B203).Supply Chain Disruption: Develop digital inventory strategies using 3D printing to reduce lead times from months to days, eliminating reliance on traditional casting/forging.Cross-Functional Leadership: Interface with engineering, procurement, and operations teams. Create and maintain training documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and certification pathways.Process Innovation: Utilize advanced systems to produce high-performance alloy components, ensuring dimensional control and defect reduction.Candidate ProfileExperience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing (3D printing) , specifically within energy, aerospace, or heavy industry.Training Acumen: Proven ability to train and upskill teams. Experience developing curriculum, conducting workshops, and assessing competency in AM technologies.Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of DED, LPBF, or WAAM processes. Extensive experience with nickel-based alloys (Inconel), titanium, and high-performance polymers.Business Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets (CAPEX/OPEX), build business cases for 3D printing adoption, and navigate internal politics in conservative energy environments.Certifications: Strong background in qualification frameworks (ISO, AS9100) and experience with metrology tools (3D scanning, CT inspection). Why Join Us?Impact: Lead projects that are redefining how energy is produced and maintained.Innovation: Work with cutting-edge large-format and high-precision 3D printing systems.Legacy: Shape the future of the industry by training and developing the AM workforce of tomorrow.
