With a mission to redefine digital transformation, we combine sovereign capabilities with scalable, high-performance compute infrastructure, positioning itself at the forefront of AI innovation in the Middle East and beyond.The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Senior PaaS / Cloud Data Platform Engineer to lead the technical implementation and evolution of a customer-facing cloud platform providing Kubernetes as a Service and managed data services, including relational and non-relational databases, message queues, caching services, and supporting platform components. The role requires strong hands-on engineering experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack, OpenShift, data platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Redis and similar technologies, as well as monitoring, high availability, automation, security, and infrastructure services. Your Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities Engineering and implementation of Kubernetes as a Service and Managed Data Platform services for cloud customers. Design, implement, and operate SRE practices for managed databases and caching services, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and similar platform components. Design and implement managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, and caching services using Kubernetes operators and related technologies, including CloudNativePG, Crunchy Data, Zalando and Percona operators, Strimzi Kafka Operator, Redis Operator, Patroni, pgBackRest, ProxySQL, Kafka Connect, Redis Cluster, Sentinel, replication, backup, failover, scaling, sharding, connection pooling, and monitoring integrations. Work hands-on with Kubernetes, OpenShift, OpenStack, operators, controllers, CRDs, automation tools, APIs, and cloud platform components. Implement secure operational practices for managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, and Redis services, including credential rotation, TLS/mTLS configuration, access control, user and role management, audit logging, backup encryption, secure parameter baselines, and image vulnerability management. Participate in on-call support, escalation handling, change management, maintenance planning, operational readiness reviews, and production support for customer-facing cloud data platform services. Review, analyze, and troubleshoot code of Kubernetes operators, controllers, automation tools, and platform services. Identify technical gaps, reliability issues, implementation risks, and operational limitations in platform components. Define and implement high availability, disaster recovery, backup, restore, failover, rollback, and maintenance procedures for Kubernetes and managed data services. Ensure proper integration with underlying cloud and infrastructure services, including OpenStack, OpenShift, DNS, DHCP, NTP, PKI, IAM, storage, networking, load balancers, and security services.What we're looking forStrong experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps/SRE, or PaaS engineering roles. Experience with OpenShift and OpenStack, including understanding of compute, networking, storage, identity, virtualization, and infrastructure dependencies. Experience with managed data services, including relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as non-relational databases, message brokers, and cache technologies. Understanding of Kubernetes operators, controllers, CRDs, reconciliation loops, admission webhooks, and automation patterns. Ability to read, understand, review, and troubleshoot code of operators, controllers, automation tools, and cloud platform components. Experience implementing production-grade monitoring, alerting, logging, observability, high availability, backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions. Good hands-on experience with Linux, networking, storage, virtualization, DNS, DHCP, PKI, IAM, load balancing, and security concepts. Ability to build secure, scalable, multi-tenant, customer-facing cloud services. Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, technical leadership, documentation, and communication skills in English. Experience with database operators such as Crunchy Postgres Operator, Percona Operators, MongoDB Operator, Redis Operator, or similar. Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Cassandra, ClickHouse, or similar technologies. Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Loki, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, or similar observability tools. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD, Flux, Crossplane, Cluster API, or GitOps-based automation. Experience with Cinder, Manila, S3-compatible storage, or software-defined storage.
