With a mission to redefine digital transformation, we combine sovereign capabilities with scalable, high-performance compute infrastructure, positioning itself at the forefront of AI innovation in the Middle East and beyond.The OpportunityThe Senior Engineer – DC Network Engineering will be responsible for engineering and optimizing Core42 Data Centre Networks (DCN), ensuring highly resilient, scalable, and secure network infrastructure to support cloud and AI workloads. The role focuses on deployment, operations, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous optimization of network and security infrastructure across Core42 environments.You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to deliver highly available networking solutions, support complex cloud architectures, and ensure operational excellence aligned with organizational objectives.Your Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer and optimize Core42 Data Centre Network (DCN) infrastructure, including traffic optimization, resiliency deployment, hardware utilization, and cabling designPlan and implement network and network security optimizations on a regular basisProvide final-tier technical resolution and escalation support for L2 operations and vendor technical engagementsDeliver L3 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis within defined SLAsReview and approve BOQs for network hardware, cabling, and infrastructure expansionApprove and maintain configuration baseline templates and security hardening standards aligned with best practicesReview and validate HLD/LLD documentation for cloud and data centre network expansionsDesign scalable WAN/LAN architectures including routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption technologiesCoordinate with WAN service providers to optimize network connectivity solutions for cloud and client environmentsPrepare and review User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation and support complex HA and failover testing activitiesPlan and execute complex change requests, migrations, maintenance windows, and deployment activitiesDevelop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and related scripting technologiesSupport software-defined networking (SDN) technologies including overlay network validation and traffic flow analysisMonitor and verify overlay network services using SDN and virtualization toolsParticipate in technical meetings with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clientsPresent Core42 networking and cloud solutions to customers and stakeholdersParticipate in technical interviews and candidate evaluations for network engineering rolesSupport field deployment activities and onsite technical operations when requiredContinuously enhance technical expertise through training, certifications, and professional development initiativesResponsibilitiesSupport NOC and L1/L2 teams during operational shifts and on-call activitiesMaintain strict confidentiality of credentials, authentication tokens, and sensitive informationManage network assets in accordance with vendor recommendations and industry best practicesPrioritize and triage incidents, tasks, and change requests based on operational severityEnsure timely project and task delivery while escalating risks or delays appropriatelyMaintain accurate and version-controlled documentation for all network changes and deploymentsEscalate incidents and technical issues within SLA timelinesComply with applicable laws, regulations, international standards, and Core42 policies and proceduresAdhere to information security, privacy, business continuity, and HSE requirementsReport security, HSE, and operational incidents through established reporting channelsEnsure proper handling, classification, and confidentiality of organizational informationAuthoritiesAuthorized to reprioritize change requests, incidents, and operational tasksAuthorized to access and configure critical network infrastructure and asset management systemsAuthorized to communicate directly with vendors to expedite technical resolutionsAuthorized to open and manage technical support cases with vendorsAuthorized to conduct peer reviews and approvals within ticketing systemsAuthorized to create and manage incidents, changes, service requests, and operational tasksAuthorized to update and maintain technical documentation repositoriesAuthorized to access Core42 network devices according to approved authorization levelsAuthorized to visit customer sites for deployment activities and technical presentationsAuthorized to evaluate and recommend candidates for network engineering positionsWhat We’re Looking For(a) Required Skills / QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplineMinimum 7 years of experience in IP network implementation and operationsStrong understanding of L2/L3 networking concepts including Ethernet, IPv4, and IPv6Hands-on experience with network virtualization and tunneling technologies such as VRF, VXLAN, GRE, and MPLSStrong expertise in routing protocols including BGP and OSPFExperience with overlay networking and network virtualization technologiesHands-on experience with Layer 7 firewalls and Ethernet encryption technologiesExperience with network monitoring and management tools such as Zabbix and GreylogKnowledge of network management protocols and frameworks including NETCONF, YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, JMS, and REST APIsGood understanding of SDN, SD-WAN, network automation, and virtualized network functionsStrong scripting/programming skills using PythonExperience working with Linux operating systems including CentOS/RHELProficiency in Microsoft Office applications(b) Preferred Skills / QualificationsExperience within cloud computing or hyperscale data centre environmentsIndustry certifications in networking or cloud networking technologies at professional or expert levelExperience with automation-driven infrastructure deployment and operationsStrong communication and presentation skillsTeam-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving
