About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Hydrocarbon Accounting (HCA) & Metering to support hydrocarbon measurement, allocation, reconciliation, and production reporting activities within a complex Oil & Gas operating environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in digital transformation initiatives, metering system optimization, hydrocarbon accounting governance, and AI-driven process improvements.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Hydrocarbon Accounting, Metering, Production Information Systems, or related fields.Strong background in ICT, Digital Technologies, and Production Information Management Systems.Extensive Oil & Gas industry experience with operators, refineries, or petrochemical facilities.Minimum 10 years of experience in digital transformation programs and process plant software implementation.Proven ability to lead business consultations, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver complex projects.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.Key CompetenciesStrong knowledge of hydrocarbon measurement principles, custody transfer systems, and international metering standards.Expertise in mass balance methodologies, hydrocarbon allocation models, fiscal measurement, and production accounting processes.Hands-on experience with Hydrocarbon Accounting solutions such as Energy Components, SAP IS-Oil, or equivalent platforms.Knowledge of production data systems such as Aspen AORA, IP.21, PHD, HEMS, or similar industrial platforms.Strong analytical skills in reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, and production performance analysis.Understanding of regulatory compliance, governance, and audit requirements related to hydrocarbon accounting.Experience driving digitalization, automation, and AI initiatives within production and accounting environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess existing Hydrocarbon Accounting (HCA) systems, processes, and procedures, and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.Conduct gap analyses covering hydrocarbon accounting processes, metering systems, and production measurement activities.Validate, monitor, and reconcile production, consumption, inventory, and transfer data obtained from metering systems, tank gauging systems, and flow computers.Perform and supervise hydrocarbon allocation, mass balance calculations, reconciliations, and production reporting activities.Investigate measurement discrepancies and ensure compliance with applicable international standards, including API and ISO requirements.Support administration and enhancement of HCA applications and their interfaces with operational data systems, SCADA, DCS, laboratory, and business systems.Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of hydrocarbon accounting findings.Drive automation, digital transformation, and process optimization initiatives related to hydrocarbon accounting and measurement operations.Lead the implementation of AI-enabled solutions and advanced analytics within HCA environments.Support the implementation and continuous improvement of production planning and hydrocarbon accounting applications.Develop competency frameworks, training programs, and provide technical mentoring to operations and engineering teams.Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Digital/IT, Commercial, and other internal and external stakeholders.Additional RequirementsCandidates must demonstrate strong technical expertise, operational awareness, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary Oil & Gas environment.Willingness to support both corporate office and operational site activities as required.Candidates will be subject to technical evaluation and competency assessment as part of the selection process.
