Location: Auckland, Christchurch or Waihi, New ZealandEmployment: Full-timeWe are recruiting for two Engineering Geology opportunities at different levels, working across dam, tailings, water and infrastructure projects in New Zealand.We are open to candidates at both Engineering Geologist or Senior Engineering Geologist level, depending on experience.These are hands-on roles suited to people who want real ownership of their work and exposure across the full project lifecycle, including field investigations, project delivery and construction supervision.--> Engineering GeologistThis role is suited to someone with approximately 2–6 years' post-graduate experience in ground investigation and engineering geological logging.You should have experience with:Supervising and logging CPTSeismic CPTSonic drillingRotary cored boreholesAugeringTest pittingIn-situ testingWorking to NZGS standardsIndependently scoping, pricing, programming and reporting on your own jobsConstruction supervisionYou should also be:Working towards PEng Geol or CPEngFamiliar with Core-GS or equivalent, Leapfrog, QGIS or ArcGISFamiliar with CADComfortable working in the field for sustained periodsComfortable spending approximately 1–3 weeks away from home when required, including at remote and mine sitesIn possession of a clean New Zealand driver licenceConfident driving a 4WD--> Senior Engineering GeologistThis role is suited to someone with approximately 8–15 years' experience in engineering geology and ground investigation, with exposure to infrastructure, water, dam or mining projects.You should be able to:Set investigation strategyTake ownership of the ground modelManage jobs independently from proposal through to close-outLead construction supervision of designed worksManage fee proposals, resourcing, programmes and budgetsManage contractor procurement and variationsHandle client reportingMentor graduate and intermediate staff towards chartershipYou should also:Hold, or be close to attaining, PEngGeol or CPEngHave experience with Core-GS or equivalent, Leapfrog, QGIS or ArcGISHave experience with geotechnical analysis softwareBe familiar with NZGS guidelines, MBIE guidance, NZS 1170.5 and the New Zealand consenting environmentBe comfortable travelling for site visits, fieldwork and construction supervisionInternational candidatesSouth African candidates can be considered for either opportunity.Candidates relocating to New Zealand should be comfortable learning and working within local New Zealand codes, guidelines and engineering practice.If you are an Engineering Geologist looking for a role with genuine project ownership, strong field exposure and the opportunity to work across dam, tailings, water and infrastructure projects, we would like to hear from you.
