Senior Engineering Manager, Backend/Platform, Fintech, $200k-$260k base, Remote, Golang, Python, React, AWS, DockerI’m currently working with a fast-growing fintech business that is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a backend/platform engineering team.This is a key role within the engineering organisation, with responsibility for the backend systems, APIs and platform infrastructure that support the company’s core products.The role will involve:• Leading and growing a team of backend/platform engineers• Owning the technical direction of backend services and APIs• Driving scalability, reliability and security across the platform• Working closely with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure and Engineering• Contributing to architecture and technical design decisions• Helping build scalable API-driven systems and platform capabilities• Hiring, mentoring and developing engineers• Staying close to the technical work and helping solve complex engineering problemsThe ideal background:• 3–7 years of Engineering Management experience• Strong background as a Senior or Staff-level backend engineer• Experience with Golang, Python or similar languages• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design• Experience owning backend architecture in production• Experience working within a startup or high-growth environment• Ideally, experience building internal platforms, shared services or developer toolingThe current technology environment includes Golang, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, OpenSearch and React.
