Employment Type: Full-Time ContractContract Duration: 1 year, with possible extensionSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ESTHours: 40 hours per weekInternal Title: System Analyst IIIPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Epic Bridges Consultant to design, implement, and support healthcare interoperability solutions across Epic and third-party systems.The consultant will serve as a technical subject-matter expert for Epic Bridges, HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR applications, Epic Web Services, and healthcare integration workflows.This position requires an independent consultant who can lead complex integration projects, troubleshoot production issues, collaborate with clinical and technical stakeholders, and mentor other analysts.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, test, implement, and support Epic Bridges interfaces using HL7 v2.x standards.Configure and implement FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR applications, Epic Web Services, and other API integrations.Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed integration specifications.Lead interface design sessions, technical workshops, and stakeholder discussions.Troubleshoot complex interface, application, workflow, and data-quality issues.Perform root-cause analysis and recommend appropriate corrective actions.Monitor interface performance and identify optimization opportunities.Lead interoperability workstreams for implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.Coordinate with Epic application teams, infrastructure, security, operational teams, and third-party vendors.Create and maintain interface specifications, data mappings, technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans for interfaces, APIs, and interoperability workflows.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to analysts and project teams.Participate in on-call production support activities when required.Ensure integration solutions comply with organizational security, privacy, and healthcare regulatory requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, healthcare, or a related field.At least 5 years of healthcare IT experience focused on systems integration and interoperability.At least 3 years of hands-on Epic Bridges experience.Current Epic Bridges certification.Experience implementing and supporting HL7 interfaces in live healthcare environments.Experience with FHIR APIs, SOAP/Web Services, and interface engines.Epic FHIR/API experience or an applicable Epic badge.Advanced experience with system configuration, interface maintenance, data mapping, and technical documentation.Experience troubleshooting complex end-to-end integration workflows.Experience working with healthcare stakeholders, vendors, application teams, and technical teams.Previous experience leading technical projects and mentoring other team members.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
