SENIOR EVENT MANAGERWe are looking for an experienced and highly driven Senior Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of large-scale B2B conferences and exhibitions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of event management experience, with a strong track record in managing complex, high-profile events involving multiple stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and partners. The successful candidate should be comfortable working under pressure and stressful environments while maintaining composure in making decisions. They should have the confidence to manage senior stakeholders and the attention to detail required to deliver high-quality B2B events.This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of an event from initial concept and planning through to on-site delivery and post-event evaluation.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Strategy & PlanningLead the end-to-end planning and delivery of large-scale B2B conferences, exhibitions and corporate events.Develop event concepts, formats, programmes, timelines and operational plans aligned with business and audience objectives.Manage multiple events and projects concurrently, ensuring all deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.Develop detailed project plans, production schedules, run sheets and event documentation including budget controls.Identify potential operational risks and develop contingency plans to ensure seamless event delivery.Event Production & ExecutionTake ownership of all aspects of event production, including venue sourcing, floor plans, stage and set-up, AV, branding, registration, catering, entertainment and event technology.Manage the planning and execution of large-scale exhibitions, including exhibitor requirements, booth layouts, sponsorship deliverables and on-site logistics.Lead event build-up, show days and tear-down, ensuring a high-quality and seamless experience for attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors.Troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively during live events and make sound decisions under pressure.Maintain a high standard of execution across all events.Stakeholder & Vendor ManagementServe as the key point of contact for clients, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, venues and external partners.Work closely with internal commercial, editorial, marketing and content teams to ensure event objectives and deliverables are aligned.Brief, negotiate and manage external agencies, production companies, AV suppliers, venues, contractors and other event vendors.Build strong relationships with suppliers and partners while ensuring quality, timelines and budgets are met.Commercial & Budget ManagementDevelop and manage event budgets, ensuring effective cost control and commercial discipline.Negotiate with venues, suppliers and vendors to achieve competitive pricing and value.Work closely with commercial teams to deliver sponsorship and exhibitor commitments.Support the development of event packages, sponsorship activations and other revenue-generating opportunities where required.Track event performance and provide post-event reporting and recommendations.Coordinate with finance on accounts payable/receivablesTeam LeadershipLead and coordinate internal project teams and external event crews to ensure smooth execution.Delegate responsibilities effectively and provide clear direction across different workstreams.Mentor and support junior event managers and coordinators.Candidate RequirementsMinimum 5 years of relevant event management experience, preferably within B2B media, conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, professional services or corporate events.Proven experience independently managing large-scale B2B conferences (minimum 500+ attendees), exhibitions and/or trade shows from planning through to execution.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing deadlines.Experience managing events involving multiple stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and senior executives.Strong understanding of event production, venue operations, AV, staging, registration, exhibition logistics and on-site management.Strong budget management, negotiation and vendor management skills.Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and external partners.Commercially aware and able to understand how events contribute to wider business and revenue objectives.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and making decisions independently.Willingness to work outside standard office hours and travel when required for event delivery.
