Senior Event Technician (Audio)

Primary FunctionWe are seeking a Senior Events Technician with strengths in Audio workflows, in London to work with the Production team, based onsite with our client who is one of the world’s leading technology companies. This role is responsible for working within a team of Technical AV Specialists and Senior Technicians to deliver end-to-end event production, including technical coordination, studio operations, DAW tasks, presentation support, AV/VC services, streaming, and event management. The ideal candidate should have a high technical background with an advanced understanding of audio systems, specifically Solid State Logic (SSL) including the System T console. Experience of Digital Audio Workflows (Pro Tools) is also required for this position. The candidate also requires experience of successfully planning and delivering events, with strong problem solving skills, and exposure to audio-visual systems with the ability to train/act as a mentor to junior colleagues.Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible, along with other Technicians and Specialists for the successful planning and delivery of event requests, held within the clients fully equipped event spacesPerform an audio Mix for live-streams & broadcasts to a high standardActs as the audio SME, providing expert operation of installed SSL consoles, including the SSL System T and SSL L100, within the clients fully equipped event spaces for the successful delivery of event requestsAble to operate (or willingness to learn) other event audio-visual systems as required, including but not limited to Sony MLS X1, Sony RCP 1500 & ETC Ion lighting desksMentors and coaches a team of technicians in collaboration with the Lead Technical DirectorDiagnostic and troubleshooting AV equipment when and where necessaryResponsible for regular maintenance and deployment of audio equipmentEscalate equipment failures to appropriate inhouse teams and assists with the resolution as needed to maintain service levelsEnsure SOPs are created and applied, and that contingency planning is included in event supportCommunicates effectively to explain our services to technical and non-technical clients as neededIs involved in, or owns, special projects or assignments as outlined by the leadership team and executes them within the given timelineCollaborate with inhouse teams on R&D efforts, identifying ways in which we can improve quality of output, efficiency through automation/tooling and process improvementsCreate SOP documents, completing detailed event reporting as well as utilising internal systemsOwn the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution and post eventOversees all audio operations in regards to the studio, including the deployment of microphones, managing and backing up all audio recordings, and editing the final mix for delivery, working closely with our editing departmentConsistently delivers high-quality service to our partnersAdheres to broadcast standards for remote and recorded attendeesAssists with training of new members of staff and improving their overall technical proficiencyLeveraging AI systems to enhance technical outputUnderstands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfullyCollaborates with the wider Dreamtek community to facilitate knowledge sharingPerforms other ad hoc duties as required by the businessSkills & QualificationsFamiliarity with video routers, including audio level routing, embedding and shufflingProficiency in Pro Tools, recording, mixing and post-production techniques for video end deliverySME in broadcast audio; operating SSL audio consoles (System T & L100) and programming Reidel comms systemsExposure to vision mixing consoles, Barco switching, Sony RCP 1500 and ETC Ion lighting desk is desirableExperience working within a gallery/master control room environmentExcellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional teamSelf starter that can demonstrate being open to learningUnderstanding and experience of various event formats, including Q&A, training events, town hall meetings etc.Education & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of professional technical live event production experiencePrevious experience in either FOH or Live Events operations and working knowledge of SSL, Yamaha consoles and Dante audio networks.
