RAK Ceramics is publicly listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange.The RoleThe Senior Executive - Procurement is responsible for the procurement of electrical and electronic spare parts, cables, and materials for electrification projects, including MRO electrical, electronic, and instrumentation spares and consumables, from both local and international suppliers.What You Will Be DoingIdentify and evaluate potential suppliers of electrical equipment and establish long-term relationships. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to ensure the best value for the organization. Conduct supplier performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns.Assess technical specifications and requirements for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with engineering teams to review product designs, evaluate alternatives, and select suitable suppliers.Analyze costs related to electrical procurement, including material costs, shipping, customs, and taxes. Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to optimize procurement processes without compromising quality or reliability.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, project management, and operations teams, to align procurement activities with project timelines and objectives. Ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and components to meet project deadlines.Identify and mitigate risks associated with electrical procurement, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and changes in market conditions. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize potential risks.Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement processes, vendor selection, and contract management. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and market conditions related to electrical equipment procurement. Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and drive efficiency within the procurement function.What We Are Looking ForSome of the key competencies required for the role include:FunctionalExperience in electrical, electronic, and instrumentation MRO procurement, including spares, consumables, cables, and electrification project materials from local and international suppliers.Proficiency in supplier identification, evaluation, sourcing, commercial negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.Ability to evaluate electrical specifications and drawings, assess alternatives, analyze procurement costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems and procurement documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier records.BehaviouralEffective communication and negotiation skills with suppliers, along with the ability to collaborate and align effectively with engineering teams, project teams, and internal stakeholders.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, evaluate alternatives, and make sound procurement decisions.Collaboration and stakeholder management skills to ensure procurement activities align with business and project requirements.Planning, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple procurement activities and meet project timelines.Our Ideal MatchBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.6–8 years of overall experience in procurement/sourcing, with strong specialization in Electrical MRO procurement.Previous experience in procurement, preferably within the electrical, engineering, or manufacturing industry.Good understanding of electrical systems, components, and equipment, with familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.Ability to evaluate technical specifications and drawings and understand electrical equipment requirements.Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, cost analysis techniques, and procurement best practices.Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems and good Microsoft Office skills to prepare accurate reports and presentations.RAK Ceramics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, nationality, disability, age, or marital status.
