Senior Facade Engineer

I am representing a multidisciplinary consultancy in Dubai that is looking to appoint a Senior Facade Engineer to lead its façade engineering function.This is a senior technical position suited to an individual who combines strong façade engineering expertise with hands-on design capabilities, multidisciplinary coordination and team leadership.The successful candidate will take ownership of façade engineering activities across a diverse portfolio of high-end residential, hospitality, retail and mixed-use developments in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.The position requires someone who can evaluate façade systems, develop technical solutions, undertake engineering calculations and oversee the delivery of façade design packages.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the façade engineering function, supervising a small team of architects and technical designers.Assess project requirements and recommend appropriate façade systems based on architectural intent, performance and technical feasibility.Develop façade design concepts, technical reports, specifications and detailed design solutions.Perform structural calculations relating to glazing thickness, mullions and other façade components.Undertake thermal performance calculations and assess façade system efficiency.Produce and review façade details, technical drawings and engineering documentation.Coordinate closely with architectural, structural and MEP engineering teams to resolve technical interfaces and design challenges.Ensure façade designs comply with applicable UAE building codes, Civil Defence regulations and municipality requirements.Incorporate sustainability and environmental performance requirements into façade design solutions.Attend technical meetings with clients and consultants, presenting and justifying proposed façade systems.Oversee the quality and accuracy of façade design deliverables throughout the design process.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.Candidate Requirements:12–15 years of professional experience in façade engineering and design.Strong background working within a specialist façade consultancy or multidisciplinary architectural/engineering consultancy.Proven experience in façade system selection, engineering, design development and technical detailing.Demonstrable experience undertaking structural and thermal façade calculations.Strong understanding of glazing systems, curtain walling, mullions and other architectural façade solutions.Experience coordinating façade designs with architectural, structural and building services disciplines.Knowledge of local building regulations, façade performance requirements and relevant authority approvals.Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with clients and consultants.Previous experience delivering façade engineering packages on large-scale building developments.You will have the opportunity to take ownership of an established façade function demonstrating leadership responsibility within a respected multidisciplinary consultancy.
