Senior Field Service Engineer – MV Motors, Generators & Excitation SystemsWe are seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of Medium Voltage rotating equipment, including motors, generators, excitation systems, and AVR systems.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering onsite technical support, ensuring equipment reliability, and providing expert guidance to customers across various industrial and power generation environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the installation, commissioning, startup, refurbishment, and maintenance of medium-voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation systems, and AVR packages.Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and emergency repair interventions on rotating electrical equipment.Supervise and execute testing, validation, and commissioning activities for protection, control, and regulation systems associated with rotating machines.Perform electrical testing including:HV AC/DC testingInsulation Resistance (IR) and Polarization Index (PI) testingHV surge testingCT & VT testingTemperature sensor testingProtection system verificationInspect, test, and maintain:Brushless excitation systemsStatic excitation systemsSurge arresters and capacitorsDiodes and capacitors on brushless excitation systemsConduct inspections of stator windings, stator cores, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical components.Support assembly, disassembly, and inspection of vertical and horizontal bearings, rotor-mounted fans, and associated components.Perform dimensional measurements and alignment checks of rotating equipment.Inspect and service jacking oil systems and lubrication systems.Operate lifting equipment and handle heavy rotating machine components safely.Provide technical guidance and training to customer personnel regarding operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.Prepare detailed technical reports, service records, field documentation, timesheets, and expense reports.Coordinate and supervise field personnel and subcontractors during site activities.Ensure compliance with the highest HSE standards and company safety policies.Desired Technical ExpertiseMedium Voltage Motors & GeneratorsSynchronous and Induction MachinesExcitation & AVR SystemsRotating Equipment CommissioningElectrical Protection SystemsHV Electrical TestingAsset Reliability & MaintenanceCondition Assessment of Rotating EquipmentTroubleshooting & Diagnostic AnalysisKnowledge of Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drive (VSD/VFD) systems is considered a strong advantage.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum 10 years of hands-on field service experience with motors, generators, and rotating electrical equipment.Proven experience in commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MV rotating machines in industrial, oil & gas, power generation, or utilities environments.Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills.Ability to work independently and lead field activities with minimal supervision.Additional RequirementsWillingness to travel in Saudi Arabia up to 80% of the time.Valid driving licence.Ability to work remotely and at customer sites.Strong organisational and reporting skills.Customer-focused mindset and commitment to service excellence.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Quality standards.Location: Saudi Arabia Industry: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Industrial Services Experience Level: Senior Field Service Engineer (10+ years)This position offers the opportunity to work on critical rotating equipment projects worldwide, supporting leading industrial and energy clients while developing expertise across a wide range of high-value electrical assets.
