This hands-on role focuses on on-site service, diagnostics, and customer support while working closely with internal service and warehouse teams. The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and removal of assigned equipmentDiagnose mechanical and electrical issues through observation, testing, and sound analysisDisassemble equipment to access, repair, or replace defective partsInspect parts for wear, dimensional changes, or defects and make necessary adjustmentsInstall special functional and structural componentsLubricate, clean, and test equipment to ensure proper performanceOperate machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate or repair partsRepair and troubleshoot electrical components and systemsProvide phone-based technical support and recommend corrective actions when possibleComplete detailed service documentation, including labor, travel time, and work performedObtain customer purchase orders to cover labor, parts, and travel expensesAssess equipment conditions to identify future repair or maintenance needsPerform routine preventive maintenancePrepare service quotes for parts and labor, submit for customer approval, and follow up as neededInitiate internal purchase orders for parts and equipmentMaintain organized digital service documentation, manuals, and parts information using a company-issued tabletDemonstrate ongoing improvement in technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and productivityTravel outside of assigned service territory as requiredRead and interpret CAD drawingsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of hands-on service or technician experience in an industrial or mechanical environmentAssociate’s degree, technical school training, or equivalent experience preferredStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience working with metalworking tools and equipmentAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProficient with Microsoft Office and emailValid driver’s license requiredCore CompetenciesCooperative, team-oriented approach with a positive and professional demeanorDependable, accountable, and committed to quality workStrong job knowledge with a willingness to learn and apply new skillsHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and safetyAbility to meet productivity goals while maintaining quality standardsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a service, warehouse, and customer-site environmentModerate noise levels are typicalRegular use of hands and arms; frequent sitting, with occasional standing and walkingAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsRequires good vision and ability to adjust focus
