Senior Finance Manager

📍 Location: Lingen, Germany🗓️ Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with regular onsite presence🗣️ Languages: German & EnglishWe’re currently supporting the search for a Senior Finance Manager for a major industrial site in Lingen.The role sits very close to the operational business and is less about traditional accounting leadership and more about performance, commercial decision-making and acting as a senior finance partner to the site leadership team.You’ll be working with leaders across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Commercial functions, helping to understand what is driving performance, where improvements are needed and how Finance can support better business decisions.What’s in it for you?A senior finance role with real exposure to the operational businessClose collaboration with site and international leadershipThe opportunity to influence commercial, operational and investment decisionsA broad role covering performance management, planning, benchmarking and improvement initiativesA position where Finance is expected to challenge, support and help shape the direction of the site

About the Role

The focus of the role is on the financial and commercial performance of the site.You’ll be responsible for bringing together financial insight, operational understanding and business priorities, while working closely with both local and international teams.This includes:Supporting the site leadership team on key financial and commercial decisionsDriving financial performance and identifying areas for improvementChallenging performance gaps and helping develop practical improvement plansSupporting planning, forecasting, reporting and benchmarking activitiesWorking with finance teams based both locally and internationallySupporting investment decisions and wider strategic topicsHelping develop finance capability across the organisationMust-Have Skills:Strong experience in commercial finance, controlling, FP&A or finance business partneringExperience within manufacturing, production, energy, chemicals, refining or another complex industrial environmentA background working closely with Plant, Site or Operations leadershipExperience improving financial or operational performanceStrong stakeholder management and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues when neededExperience working in an international or matrix organisationFluent German and EnglishDirect refinery experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
