Referment is working with a fast-growing consumer finance business that is building a fairer and more transparent alternative to traditional short-term credit.They’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team and take real ownership across month-end, balance sheet control, reporting and audit.This would suit a newly qualified accountant who enjoys being close to the numbers, but also wants to move beyond simply producing them and start analysing performance, improving processes and influencing how the finance function operates.What You’ll Be DoingOwning key parts of the month-end close processPreparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliationsProducing variance analysis and commentary on monthly performanceSupporting management accounts and departmental cost analysisPreparing quarterly VAT returnsSupporting external audit and maintaining audit-ready documentationAssisting with technical accounting journals, including IFRS 9Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processesSupporting junior members of the finance teamWhat They’re Looking ForNewly qualified ACCA or equivalentStrong financial or management accounting experienceHands-on month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experienceExposure to external auditStrong analytical skills and attention to detailConfident communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearlyA proactive approach and willingness to take ownershipExperience within lending, fintech or financial services would be particularly relevant, but isn’t essential.This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to make the step from newly qualified accountant into a broader, more commercially exposed finance role within a growing fintech environment.#Referment
