Our Company COCON was founded 5 years ago, and after two pivots, we have focused for the last 2 years on our outsourcing partnership to manage and fully operate wellness spas inside luxury hotels. We create concepts and brands, and run the entire daily operations - currently with 7 properties in our porftolio across London and Amsterdam (including Marriott Autograph Collection, Hilton and other brands). We are a founder-led, investor-backed group of 70+ people on a deliberate march from growth-at-all-costs to disciplined profitability, with a technology platform for hotel wellness in development behind it.Your role You will personally run the finance engine of the group: UK and NL operating companies, modern systems, real complexity, and a standard that everything reconciles and everything lands on time. This is an owner-operator seat, not a review-and-delegate seat. You'll take over financial execution and critical processes which include managing internal and external workflows and stakeholders (reconciliations and reporting with and for hotel partners, OTAs, etc). What you'll ownCash: 13-week rolling cash flow, refreshed weekly and trusted by the founders; collections rhythm and receivables chasing; payment runs across UK and NL.Close: month-end for both countries with our external accountants; reconciliations, accruals, intercompany, and a close that gets faster every quarter.Partner settlements: monthly revenue-share and profit-share calculations with five-star hotel partners, cross-charge invoicing and reconciliation; accurate, documented, defensible.Payables & payroll: supplier cycle and approvals discipline; payroll coordination with our UK bureau and Dutch payroll partner, including therapist payment cycles.Compliance calendar: VAT cycles UK & NL with the accountants, statutory filings, insurance and registrations; a calendar that fires proactively, never discovered late.Systems & registers: a genuinely modern stack (Xero, Dext, Trybe POS, dashboards, Airtable operations system): keep improving it; maintain the contract and expiry registers that give 10-second answers.Reporting: the monthly business review pack, per-site P&Ls and breakeven floors, payroll-ratio and utilisation KPIs; and, as we approach our funding round, numbers investors trust. What we're looking forAbove all: someone who genuinely enjoys owning the work in a lean environment. This is not a role where a team produces the output. You do, using one junior colleague and external specialists well, with founders who read the numbers weekly and act on them.Qualified, part-qualified or QBE with 5+ years running hands-on finance in a multi-entity business: hospitality, leisure, retail or consumer services preferred.Proven owner of month-end closes and cash forecastin; you approve the reconciliation because you built it.Comfortable with international structure: a Dutch group alongside the UK core (external partners handle local compliance; you hold the map), and a growing international presence soon.Systems-fluent: Xero (or equivalent) mastery, confident with data tools and quick to automate the repetitive.Commercially aware: revenue-share models, partner billing, margin thinking. You see the business behind the numbers.Calm, direct, kind and ego in check. We work closely, move fast, and say things plainly. Why join now?Rare breadth for a controller role: two countries, five-star hotel partners, an investor board, at a size where you touch everything and own the outcome. The turnaround maths is working: cash burn halved year-over-year, and the next 12 months (breakeven, a re-founded flagship partnership, a funding round, a tech platform) are the interesting part.A real path: this seat is designed to grow into a global senior role as the group scales.PracticalitiesLocation: hybrid, with regular presence at our London sites; occasional Amsterdam.Start: ASAP, September–October 2026 preferred.Package: £55,000–£70,000 DOE, with development budget and a genuine seat at the table.Process: intro call with the CEO → practical case (cash forecast + multi-entity close) → founders panel. We complete the loop within two weeks.
