Review and investigate escalated sanctions, screening, transaction monitoring, and other financial crime alerts to assess potential financial crime risks and ensure appropriate outcomesConduct complex financial crime investigations, analysing customer activity, transactional behaviour, and relevant intelligence to identify potential money laundering, sanctions, fraud, or other financial crime concernsPerform AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for new and existing customers, providing independent challenge and recommendations prior to approvalUndertake Politically Exposed Person (PEP), sanctions, and adverse media screening reviews, assessing findings and providing clear risk-based recommendationsReview and assess fraud-related matters, including payment and debit card fraud cases, providing oversight, challenge, and guidance to ensure risks are appropriately managedAssess financial crime and fraud risks and determine whether internal escalation, suspicious activity reporting, or other regulatory reporting obligations should be consideredReview and respond to information requests from regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, correspondent banks, and other financial institutionsSupport the ongoing development and enhancement of the Bank's financial crime framework, including policies, systems, controls, monitoring, and governance processesAnalyse financial crime data, trends, and management information to identify emerging risks, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvementPrepare management information, reporting, and presentations for senior management, and executive committeesAssess the design and effectiveness of the Bank's financial crime controls and recommend enhancements where requiredProvide advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise to business and operational teams on financial crime and fraud-related mattersBuild and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties to support the Bank's financial crime risk management frameworkSupport regulatory reporting and compliance submissions as requiredRemain up to date with changes in AML, sanctions, fraud prevention, and wider financial crime regulations, ensuring regulatory developments are appropriately considered and implementedRequirements3-5 years' experience in a Financial Crime, AML, Compliance, or Fraud-related role within a regulated financial institutionSound understanding of AML, KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and fraud risk managementStrong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to make well-reasoned, risk-based decisionsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to influence and challenge constructively where appropriateStrong organisational and time-management skillsHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and discretionProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointBenefits25 days annual leave entitlement plus 8 bank holidays Pension scheme, 4% employer contribution Private Medical Insurance 60-40 Hybrid working after successful probation period Free gym access in the building
