Senior Fleet Manager

Our client, a growing equipment rental organization, is seeking a Senior Fleet Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing enterprise fleet strategy, performance, and asset lifecycle management to maximize return on invested capital. The position requires managing fleet mix, utilization, and capital deployment across rental and heavy equipment segments, working closely with sales, operations, service, and logistics to optimize fleet availability and efficiency.Salary + Additional Benefits:$120,000-$150,000, Depending on ExperienceDiscretionary BonusMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance401K - company match

Responsibilities

Develop and execute enterprise fleet strategies aligned with revenue growth and ROIC targets.Plan and manage equipment purchases, redeployments, and dispositions.Optimize fleet mix across various segments based on demand and profitability.Monitor and improve fleet utilization performance across all branches and categories.Identify underperforming assets and lead actions such as repositioning, re-renting, or disposing.Collaborate with sales and operations to enhance fleet demand coverage and reduce idle time.Track key fleet performance metrics including utilization percentage, time on rent, and idle assets.Lead fleet rotation strategies to match demand and minimize logistics costs.Manage the full lifecycle of equipment, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposition.Monitor fleet age, maintenance costs, and asset return performance to ensure optimal lifecycle management.Establish and enforce asset disposition criteria based on ROI, utilization, and costs.Partner with sales to align fleet availability with demand and pricing strategies.Support maintenance strategies and downtime reduction efforts in collaboration with service teams.Coordinate with logistics to ensure efficient equipment movement and positioning.Develop reporting tools and dashboards to monitor fleet performance and provide insights.Provide data-driven recommendations for executive review and decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred7-10 years of experience in fleet or asset management, within rental, construction or heavy equipmentProven track record managing large, diversified asset portfoliosStrong financial and analytical skills, including ROI, capital planning, and forecastingDeep understanding of utilization, asset performance, and lifecycle economicsAbility to translate data into actionable decisionsExperience with fleet management systems and analytics toolsHighly analytical and data-driven mindsetDisciplined and objective decision-making skillsResults-oriented with strong accountabilityStrategic thinker capable of execution across field and corporate environmentsDue to the high volume of applications we typically receive, we regret that we are not able to personally respond to all applications.
