Senior Fleet Operations Manager

Job SummaryThe Fleet Operations Manager oversees all aspects of fleet operations, including application for operational qualifications, vehicle dispatching, driver management, road safety management and overall company operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and premium customer experience. The ideal candidate shall possess in-depth knowledge of airport transfer service systems.Key Responsibilities1. Fleet ManagementOversee the procurement, maintenance and deployment of the fleet to guarantee optimal vehicle performance.Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles.Manage vehicle insurance, registration and ensure full compliance with local regulations.2. Driver ManagementRecruit, train and supervise drivers to uphold high standards of professionalism and safety.Monitor drivers’ performance and their adherence to company policies and service quality standards.Address driver-related issues and manage work schedules efficiently.3. Operational Qualification ApplicationHandle the application and renewal of permits, licenses and operational qualifications required by regulatory authorities.Ensure all operational procedures comply with governmental and industry regulations.4. Vehicle Dispatching & SchedulingEstablish and oversee an efficient dispatching system to ensure punctual pick-up and drop-off services.Monitor real-time fleet operations and promptly resolve delays and operational disruptions.5. Road Traffic Safety ManagementFormulate and enforce safety protocols for on-site vehicle operations at the airport, ensuring compliance with airport rules and safety standards.Monitor traffic flow, optimize pick-up and drop-off zones to reduce congestion and improve operational efficiency.Liaise with airport authorities and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and safe vehicle operations.6. Airport Transfer Service SystemSupervise and optimize end-to-end airport transfer procedures to deliver a seamless customer experience.Maintain effective communication with airport staff and security teams to ensure smooth vehicle access and clearance.Keep updated on revisions to airport traffic rules, regulations and workflows, and adjust operations accordingly.7. Corporate Management & StrategyDevelop and execute operational strategies to boost efficiency and profitability.Manage budgets, track expenses and optimize cost-effectiveness.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align fleet operations with overall business objectives.8. Customer ServiceAddress customer feedback and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.Analyze service performance metrics and roll out targeted improvement initiatives.Qualifications & SkillsExtensive working experience in fleet operations management or equivalent roles in Japan, preferably within the transportation industry.In-depth understanding of airport transfer services, including familiarity with airport traffic flow and relevant regulations.Solid hands-on experience in vehicle dispatching, driver management and regulatory compliance.Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate teams.Proficient in using fleet management software and relevant tools.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related fields (preferred).
