You are not building a package for the next owner.About the RoleWe are hiring a Senior FP&A Analyst for one of our portfolio companies in the Phoenix metro area. You would be employed by and work on-site at the operating company, reporting to its CFO, with visibility to Flying Horse Capital ownership. We will share the company name and full business detail in the first conversation.This is a build-it role, not a maintain-it role.You will be the analytical backbone of the finance function — owning the budget and forecast, standing up reporting that leadership actually uses to run the business, and giving the CEO, CFO, and ownership a clear line of sight into what is driving performance.You will not be one of twelve analysts refreshing a slide that someone else presents. You will sit close to the operators, understand how the business actually makes money, and have your analysis in front of decision-makers within days of producing it.What You'll OwnPlanning and forecastingBuild and maintain the annual operating budget and rolling forecast, working directly with department leadersOwn the 13-week cash flow forecast and short-term liquidity planningModel scenarios for capacity, headcount, pricing, capital expenditures, and growth initiativesReporting and analysisProduce the monthly reporting package for company leadership and ownership, including variance analysis with real explanations for what moved and whyBuild and maintain KPI dashboards for operations, sales, and executive leadershipAnalyze unit economics, project and customer profitability, margin, and cost structureBusiness partnershipPartner with operations leaders to translate financial results into operating decisionsSupport pricing analysis, bid and quote review, and margin improvement workEvaluate capital projects and investment requests, including ROI and payback analysisSystems and processImprove the reporting infrastructure — data pulls, models, and reporting cadence — so closing the loop gets faster every quarterSupport ERP and reporting system improvements alongside the accounting teamContribute to acquisition diligence and integration analysis as the company growsWhat We're Looking ForRequired4+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, transaction advisory, audit, or a comparable analytical finance roleBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related fieldAdvanced Excel — you can build a clean, auditable driver-based model without a templateStrong command of the financial statements and how operating decisions flow through themAbility to explain financial results in plain language to people who do not work in financePreferredExperience at a lower-middle-market, private equity-backed, or family-owned company where the finance team is small and the scope is wideCPA, CFA, or MBAExperience with a mid-market ERP and a BI tool such as Power BI or TableauExposure to M&A diligence or integration workHow You WorkYou go find the answer rather than waiting to be handed the dataYou are comfortable building something that did not exist beforeYou have judgment about what matters and what is noiseYou want to be in the business, talking to operators — not behind a screen all dayWhy This RoleOwnership stability.
