Senior Frontend Developer

Job role: A dedicated startup is being formed to industrialize and scale a secure, AI-enabled, multi-source decision-support software offering. The platform is a multi-sensor fusion and agentic AI solution connecting to diverse data sources (for example geospatial layers, imagery, video, and other operational signals). This role will support the delivery of a scalable product and contribute to establishing the processes, standards, and collaboration practices required for sustainable growth.The Senior Frontend Developer will lead the design, development, and optimization of modern, high-performance single page applications using React. This role involves collaborating closely with project manager, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, scalable, and intuitive user experiences. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert who can drive frontend architecture decisions, and champion best practices across the engineering team.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and optimize complex single page applications using React and related technologies.Architect scalable, modular, and reusable frontend components and systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements and UX designs into high-quality code.Ensure application performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.Implement and advocate for best practices in frontend development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.Integrate secure RESTful APIs, streaming services, secure websocket connections, authentication, authorization, and other backend services into the frontend application.Lead technical discussions, propose innovative solutions, and contribute to long-term product strategy.Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with at least 3 years focused on React.Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade single page applications.Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.Experience with GitHub practices and GitHub workflows.Familiarity with modern build tools and workflows (npm/yarn).Experience working with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles.Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, and asynchronous programming.Experience with testing frameworks such as React Testing Library, or Cypress.Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and browser rendering behavior.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
