Company: XOOM ENTERPRISESDepartment: XOOM PRESSWork Type: Part-TimeIndustry Focus: News, Media & Digital PublishingExperience Level: SeniorXOOM ENTERPRISES is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our technology team on a part-time basis.We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong expertise in Angular SSR and .NET, with a proven background in building and maintaining news websites, publishing platforms, media portals, content aggregation systems, CMS platforms, and high-traffic content-driven web applications.Experience working with RSS feeds, news aggregation, content syndication, article ingestion, metadata, copyright compliance, and content attribution is highly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using Angular, Angular SSR, TypeScript, and .NET.Build high-performance, SEO-friendly news and publishing platforms.Design and implement systems for news aggregation and content ingestion from multiple sources.Integrate and manage RSS/Atom feeds and other authorized content feeds.Build automated processes for retrieving, parsing, validating, categorizing, and updating news content.Develop systems for article aggregation, source attribution, author information, publication dates, categories, tags, images, and metadata.Implement mechanisms for identifying duplicate or syndicated content.Handle content updates, corrections, removals, and source changes reliably.Work with CMS, editorial, publishing, moderation, and content-management workflows.Implement appropriate copyright notices, source attribution, content ownership information, licensing metadata, and takedown/removal workflows.Ensure aggregated or syndicated content is handled according to the applicable copyright, licensing, attribution, and publisher requirements.Build systems that distinguish between original editorial content, licensed content, syndicated content, and externally sourced/aggregated content.Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.Design and optimize database structures and queries for large volumes of articles and content metadata.Implement server-side rendering, caching, performance optimization, and SEO best practices.Build reusable and maintainable frontend components.Collaborate with UI/UX, editorial, backend, infrastructure, and product teams.Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.Participate in architecture decisions and technical planning.News Aggregation & RSS ExperienceThe ideal candidate should understand how modern news aggregation systems work, including:RSS and Atom feed integrationFeed discovery and validationAutomated feed polling and synchronizationXML parsing and normalizationArticle ingestion pipelinesFeed failure and retry handlingDuplicate article detectionContent categorization and taggingSource and publisher identificationAuthor and publication metadataFeatured images and media metadataPublication and update timestampsCanonical URLsArticle summaries and excerptsContent freshness and update detectionSource attributionSyndication and licensing metadataAutomated content moderation workflowsHandling unavailable, removed, or updated articlesExperience with news aggregators, digital newspapers, online magazines, publishing platforms, media portals, or similar systems is strongly preferred.Copyright, Licensing & Content ComplianceBecause the platform will work with news and third-party content, the developer should have a practical understanding of how technology interacts with copyright and content licensing requirements.Responsibilities may include developing technical mechanisms for:Displaying clear publisher/source attribution.Maintaining original source URLs and canonical references.Recording content ownership and licensing information.Separating original XOOM editorial content from third-party content.Supporting licensed and authorized syndicated content.Limiting third-party content to the scope permitted by the applicable feed, license, or agreement.Managing article excerpts, summaries, headlines, thumbnails, and other third-party metadata appropriately.Supporting publisher-requested content removal and takedown procedures.Maintaining content provenance and source history.Preserving copyright notices and publisher information where required.Preventing unauthorized reproduction of protected content.Supporting internal audit trails for content sources and publishing actions.Important: The developer is not expected to provide legal advice.
