Full-Stack Engineer — Investment Platform$200K–$250K BaseHybrid / Remote FlexibilityAbout the OpportunityA leading Bay Area venture capital firm is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to build and expand its proprietary investment platform. This internal software powers portfolio monitoring, financial analysis, valuations, and investor reporting across more than 70 portfolio companies.You'll join a small, highly autonomous team and work directly with investment and finance professionals to develop tools that improve how the firm manages financial data, evaluates investments, and operates its funds.This is a hands-on engineering opportunity with significant ownership across the entire technology stack, from database architecture and backend services to user-facing applications and AI-powered workflows.What You'll DoBuild and maintain full-stack applications using Python, PostgreSQL, React, and TypeScript.Design scalable data models for complex financial information, including valuations, ownership structures, portfolio performance, and fund reporting.Automate financial data ingestion, reconciliation, and reporting processes.Develop AI-powered internal tools leveraging LLMs, retrieval systems, and agents.Collaborate directly with investment, finance, and investor relations teams to translate business needs into production software.Own features end to end, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.What We're Looking For5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack development capabilities.Direct experience building software for venture capital, private equity, fund operations, or private-market financial platforms.Strong proficiency in Python, SQL/PostgreSQL, React, and TypeScript, or closely related technologies.Experience designing complex relational data models and building reliable data pipelines.Demonstrated ownership of production applications, from initial development through long-term maintenance.Strong communication skills and experience working directly with nontechnical stakeholders.A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating independently within a small team.Bonus: Experience with AWS, financial reporting platforms, portfolio analytics, cap table management, or production LLM/AI applications.
