Senior Full-Stack Engineer — Next.js + FastAPI

The Role We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own the front end and carry real weight on the back end of a subscription SaaS product in the financial space. It is live, paid for, and used daily, with gated premium content, an AI assistant, and data-heavy dashboards. The front end is Next.js with React and TypeScript. The back end is Python microservices on FastAPI with PostgreSQL on AWS. You’ll live mostly in the first and be expected to move confidently in the second. We are an AI-first engineering team Claude Code, Codex and Cursor are part of how we ship, not an experiment on the side. This is a hands-on senior role on a small team. You’ll take a feature from a spec conversation to production yourself, and you’ll talk directly to client-side engineers while doing it. We need someone who reads an existing codebase, takes ownership, and drives decisions not someone who waits for the next instruction. What You’ll Work On The Next.js / React / TypeScript application the primary product surface for every paying user State and data flow at scale, and the discipline to keep it from turning into a swamp Data-dense UI charts, document and rich-text rendering, and making all of it work on a phone Feature work across FastAPI services: async database access, migrations, and clean API design Subscription billing and access tiers, plus the rules that decide who sees what Authentication and account flows sessions, email verification, password reset, transactional email Real-time surfaces wired to our AI services Onboarding and data-migration work moving live paying users without breaking their billing or access Instrumenting what you ship error tracking and product analytics, and actually looking at both Shipping through staging to production on containerised infrastructure, with tests running in CI Code review your PRs reviewed, and reviewing everyone else’sRequirements 3–6 years of professional full-stack engineering experience, with genuine depth on the React side Strong Next.js (App Router) and TypeScript on modern React production applications, not tutorials or side projects A state management library on an app large enough for it to matter Tailwind, and a real eye for whether the result looks right You already build with AI coding tools every day Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar. This is how our whole team works, so we expect you to arrive fluent in them, not learn them here Working Python and FastAPI you can add an endpoint, write a migration, and debug an async database query without supervision Solid PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, indexing, query optimisation Experience integrating subscription billing and payments Comfortable with Docker and AWS You write tests as part of the work, on both sides of the stack Clean Git discipline — feature branches, conventional commits, PRs that explain what changed and why Strong English, written and spoken.
