Senior Fullstack Engineering Manager

About the OpportunityOur client, a leading global financial services organisation, is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead a portfolio of applications and engineering teams within a Core Custody technology function.This is a leadership role combining people management, software delivery, and strategic technology planning. You will work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions that support critical business services.The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business strategy into technical roadmaps, managing engineering delivery, and building high-performing teams while championing modern software engineering practices.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a portfolio of business-critical applications and software engineering teams.Partner with Product Owners, Architects and stakeholders to define priorities and deliver technology solutions aligned to business objectives.Translate strategic goals and requirements into prioritised backlogs and technical deliverables.Drive the delivery of scalable, resilient and secure cloud-native applications.Promote engineering excellence, architectural consistency and best practices across development teams.Oversee software delivery for mission-critical platforms, ensuring quality, reliability and performance.Support the adoption of modern engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated testing and containerisation.Build, mentor and develop high-performing engineering teams.Lead hiring initiatives and help attract, retain and develop top technology talent.Collaborate across business and technology functions to influence strategic roadmaps and technology direction.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation.Required Experience & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.7+ years' experience in software engineering, building scalable, secure and resilient web applications.5+ years' experience managing software engineering teams.Proven experience leading distributed and remote engineering teams.Strong background in both frontend and backend software development.Solid understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based platforms.Experience implementing modern software engineering methodologies, including:Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Automated testingContinuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Containerisation technologiesDemonstrated success delivering mission-critical enterprise applications.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.Passion for mentoring, coaching and developing engineering talent.What's on OfferOpportunity to lead teams building innovative, enterprise-scale technology solutions.Exposure to complex, highly available platforms supporting critical financial services operations.Collaborative environment with strong investment in engineering excellence and professional development.Hybrid working model with flexibility, alongside opportunities to work with globally distributed teams.Competitive remuneration package and comprehensive employee benefits.If you are an experienced Engineering Leader with a strong background in software delivery, cloud technologies and people management, we'd love to hear from you.
