The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the monthly financial close process, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced corporate environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve identified discrepancies.Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Maintain the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial data.Analyze financial results and investigate variances.Support budgeting and forecasting processes as required.Collaborate with related parties and reconciling intercompany balances on a monthly basis.Prepare and file HST returns, ensuring compliance with CRA requirements and filing deadlines.Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.Support the tax department by gathering, reconciling, and providing documentation required for tax filings and compliance reporting.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial objectives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Preferred ExperienceExperience with month-end and year-end close processes.Exposure to audit support and internal controls.Experience working with large datasets and financial analysis.Experience with CMS (AS400) and Onestream.
