This role offers a chance to contribute to our ambitious growth and play a key part in shaping the future of mining in the Kingdom.OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:The Mine Senior Geologist will be responsible for developing personnel within the grade control drilling team, systems and procedures to provide safe and efficient mining practices.Assigned in the various phases of office, plant, field or laboratory and geosciences work as assignments. Assists with the implementation of approved programs on specific licenses within budget guidelines and ensures technical quality and vastness of mineral deposits and safety of personnel. Participates in the development of exploration programs and budget. Collects and analyses material in mine. The role includes responsibility to provide technical expertise to all departments including Maaden employees and contractors who will operate within the mine.Overall objectives are to provide the Geological expertise of the mining activities required to meet the Refinery bauxite requirement on grade whilst maximizing reserves, minimizing costs and maintaining standards in compliance with MA business plan, which includes adherence to health, safety and environmental objectives and policies.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:EHSResponsible for ensuring the company’s EHS policy, procedure, and systems are implemented and adhered to by all employees & contractors.Complete all site-specific audits associated with EHS requirement.Technical Quality control Develop and update geological and resource models.Interpret geological, geophysical, and drilling data.Plan and manage grade control drilling programs.Oversee sampling, QA/QC, and database integrity.Conduct production and grade reconciliation activities.Prepare geological reports, maps, and technical presentations.Coordinate with mining, drilling, and resource teams.Ensure resource quality and compliance with customer specifications.Production Overseeing the monthly, Weekly and daily grade control functionsAct as the point of contact to the Mine and Refinery for all Geological issues that arise.PlanningMine production Forecast, Short- and Medium-term PlanningPlanning and Implementation of Grade Control drilling programs as per mine planBudget & ReportingParticipates in annual budget preparation, providing estimates on field and office expenses as well as new equipment required and maintenance.Assists with the preparation of monthly progress reports on field and office activities and submits to department.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum Experience:Minimum 5 years of relevant mining/geology experienceSkills:This requires adequate planning and analytical skills and the ability to interpret sometimes complex data to reach optimal conclusions.Desirable to have hands-on experience in mining.Demonstrated ability to adopt / deploy analytical techniques and/or analytical standards.Moderate Excel user (e.g. PIVOT reports, SUMIF, VLOOKUP…etc.)Moderate Data AnalysisRelevant Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering and Mineral Resource Management.Experience in mine planning and scheduling is essential.Knowledge of engineering techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and mine operations.Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Working knowledge of geological software (Surpac / acquire / Minesched /XPAC ).Demonstrated ability of manage budget and contracts.
