Senior Geophysicist (GPh-26-01)-Join Immediately Location: Abu Dhabi, UAEGSC Engineering & Geo Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Geophysicist to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, processing, interpreting, and reporting geophysical investigations for engineering, environmental, infrastructure, and subsurface utility projects across the GCC region. The role requires strong practical experience in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW).QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology, or a related discipline; M.Sc. or Ph.D. is preferred. More than 5 years of relevant professional experience in engineering and applied geophysics. Proven experience working on projects across GCC countries. Strong field, data-processing, interpretation, and technical reporting capabilities. Excellent communication, client coordination, and presentation skills. RequirementsStrong practical experience in GPR surveys for underground utility detection, concrete scanning, subsurface mapping, void detection, and structural investigations. Strong experience in ERT surveys for geological, geotechnical, environmental, groundwater, cavity, and subsurface investigations. Strong experience in MASW surveys for shear-wave velocity profiling, ground stiffness assessment, Vs30 calculation, and seismic site characterization. Ability to plan geophysical surveys, select suitable acquisition parameters, and develop field layouts appropriate to project objectives and site conditions. Proficiency in relevant geophysical processing and interpretation software for GPR, ERT, and MASW data. Ability to integrate geophysical results with borehole logs, geotechnical data, geological information, utility records, and engineering drawings. Experience preparing geophysical sections, maps, interpretation drawings, technical reports, method statements, and engineering recommendations. Familiarity with GPS/GNSS surveying, GIS, AutoCAD, and coordinate systems is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of geophysical survey limitations, data quality control, uncertainty, and ground-truthing requirements. Familiarity with GCC authority requirements, site procedures, HSE regulations, and engineering consultancy practices. Ability to lead field teams, supervise junior geophysicists, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality work within project deadlines. A valid driving license and willingness to travel for projects across the GCC region are preferred.
